Meteorologically, mist is fog with a visibility of 1 km or more. Falling precipitation, including snow, often causes mist.

36/31 still rain in west hills of Woodinville. Easy side of Woodinville is seeing snow. Little more elevation and away from the water.

EPS shows sustained -10 to -12 temperature departures for SEA during week two.  Totally insane!

What is the difficult side of Woodinville like?

Even starting as a rain/snow mix for me all the way out here towards the foothills. I expect it to change over soon once the temp drops more.

I mean it made no difference here. Wind seems to have relaxed a bit now, got fairly strong for a bit when the front passed through.

Fife is awfully cursed with underperforming snow events, only gives me a lot of motivation to bust a** in life and move out of here. Temp dropped to 36 but it's still pure rain, hopefully only a matter of time.

If this region around Puyallup is the Swamp, then Fife is the mini Everglades.

Not sticking to everything actually, just some surfaces. Looks like somewhere around 34-36, not as cold as out there

Shouldn’t take too long…coming down hard enough that it’s trying to stick to the roads here.

Tonight's snow should get me to around 40 inches for the season so far.

Temp is now rising, up to 37. Pretty clear we missed the window and the dry air ate up all the precipitation leaving it juuuuuust warm enough to rain instead of snow. But I have to say this whole thing has been fascinating to watch. Such a weird and complex setup.

If it makes you feel better it’s 38 IMBY with chunky rain. And I’m not even in the swamp.

Fife is literally just about the worst place in the Seattle metro area for scoring snow. Super low elevation, near salt water, and too far south to benefit from most convergence zones.

Yeah the temp just dropped to 37 and starting to get flakes mixed in. I think it might have something to do with the area of 925s that were above freezing over the cascades.

Some genuinely heavy snow falling here, roads have already been recovered. So that puts my February totals at just over a foot if I'm counting correctly-- what a month! Should probably update my out of date signature...
