PNW February 2023 Weather Discussion - Meteorological winter finale

Recommended Posts

Currently 29F and snow is coming down very light. It started out of nowhere and only took minutes to cover everything. Already at 4 inches which is what Wunderground was saying for my area and we haven’t even hit the “heavy snow” hours which were forecasted. Who wants photos!!

Probably not that low with this.

Not sure on Ucluelet, but the nearby Tofino station has been just above freezing for almost the entire snowfall. Ucluelet has reported 32 cm of snow, at 5:1 that would translate to 64 mm of rain, which would be a pretty run-of-the-mill front for them.

Traffic cams have been offline at times. But it has been very heavy snow at times. Does look pretty wet

Just went outside to check and heard splats but I think it’s just sleet or graupel. It will probably change over soon.

Kind of an OMG EPS run.  It not only shows the big cold trough carving out next week, but it's showing over twice as much snow going into it as the 12z.  Furthermore, it's spitting out mean lows in the mod 20s for Seattle.

How's it look in that March 10-12 period?
