Andrew, reading this article lead me down a wikipedia rabbit hole that eventually ended with learning about Kiviak, a traditional Greenlandic food. Sounds delicious!

And I was watching the surface maps since the 500mb maps were not updating on the tropical site... and said it was actually warmer and drier than the previous run.   That was completely true.   That angered you even though I had not even seen your post first.

Has been about a 0.10” of rain so far. Good start but definitely rooting for more in the coming weeks. Interesting thing I saw today apparently San Francisco has had 42 rainy days vs Seattle’s 39 days this winter.

I was going to say something similar about the spring-like dark sky earlier this evening and how the landscape immediately looks greener when it starts to rain at this time of year.

I mentioned this earlier... this looks like our best chance for meaningful rain. Its actually focused in the 11-13 day period. Ridging is building back in by day 14 and 15.

 

Nonetheless... this almost has to verify. We are way overdue for a period of heavy rain.

Probably some ensemble spread/dateline bias there as well. The jet extension should last longer than that, or so I suspect.

Wow. We actually got more rain than forecasted today. Pleasant surprise.

A little. Jacarandas look more subtropical but I can see the slight resemblance in that they are both trees blooming with pastel colored flowers.

00z GFS seems to continue the trend of pushing back the big rains next week. Northern energy is more dominant once again on this run.

Nice to hear that option is in the card deck at least. Most the models seem to either be in the cool and dry or milder and wet camp lately.
