Have to question the 12s gfs for that much snowfall in Nebraska. That would break all time storm totals for this late in the season if it verifies. Don't get me wrong, I hope it happens, just seems to be in fantasy land for April 17.

GGEM is the same and hits NEB pretty hard.

 

About 20 mm of snow for gosaints area which is about 0.8 QPF or so.

12z GGEM short period of snow here poor thermo's would have to be even further south for here.  EIther way it switches over.

Must of gotten at least 2 inches of rain here this morning.  Ground soaked it in pretty good. Frost is out.  Some nice hail too

It is very warm here.  The temp in CR has hit 76 and even Dubuque, after getting storms this morning, has surged into the mid 70s.

Recorded hail just over 1" this morning, then sunshine about 15 minutes later. The wonders of spring.

12z EURO has the Wednesday-Thursday system heading towards Lake Superior. Snow for eastern ND to the Arrowhead over towards the eastern side of the lake.

34 here right now with some light snow this morning. No accumulation though even though 2 to 4" was predicted by the NWS.

All the way up to 80° at ORD now. 76° here with a dewpoint of 55°.

i would of say that we should not say the snow word anymore(and the reminat piece of the polar vortex is now collapsed).

Made it to 83 here in Cedar Rapids.  I expected to overperform relative to the local mets and nws, but I didn't see 80s coming.

Hit 78° here. A bit cooler now - in the upper 50s. Seems like the warmer air is trying to fight its way back northward.

18z GFS...skeptical if these amounts happen.  So far GGEM/GFS are showing snow somewhere in the region, EURO on its own at the moment.

BTW, the storm this weekend and the system late next week all fit in line with the LRC.  Both bring colder air behind each system.  We are in the midst of the most active part of the LRC.

Indeed, some lollipop totals showing up there....most likely overdone but def showing another juicy Spring time system.

It might snow here Monday (says almost every met in town), so no need to remove the word from the vocabulary yet. Polar vortex may be gone, but chilly temps are clearly not when we're gonna need our winter jackets Mon/Tues.

many major snow storms most of last last april in northern wi and mn.  yeah in the wasteland of Ill major snowstorm season is running out but not impossible.

6 months str8 today without hitting 70 degrees.  prob be like last april and will have to wait until late april for the first real tatste of warmth.  then its only 4 months until met fall!

 

lake breeze kicked a** yesterday and will for a few months yet.

Lake breeze yesterday didn't have any power here until about 6pm here. Warmth actually resurged in the early morning hours and hit 65°. Lawn looks a whole lot better now... no longer brown/yellowish.

 

Now though it is cooling off as the stratiform rain approaches from the southwest.

I will say the depth of the cold air masses are shallower now because it is gone. 

 

I won't be surprised to see a little snow in the next 3 days in the air at least. Monday and Tuesday are going to be the pits with highs in the low 40s.

EURO says it stays mild for the most part after Tuesday. Widespread 50s and 60s through the 21st and then more 60s, and 70s for Days 9 and 10. Even some 80s and low 90s for Earth Day in the Plains.
