12Z GFS and GEFS want to build in ridging starting next week. Hopefully this is just a case of the models rushing the pattern change for this week but it will eventually get there.

That’s a bold forecast so far out.

He is channeling his inner Jim!

Jim said confidently that late April and early May would feature lots of continental air and frosty nights. Ended up with pretty much the exact opposite. Which is why he is not on here screaming about cold nights now and his skeleton-like trees. :)

He's busy reading the Limbaugh Letter.

Too mainstream.

He is busy worshipping this great man... who continues to torture the families of the children massacred at Sandy Hook by saying it never happened and it was all actors.

But Jim is obsessed with cold so its all good.

This made me laugh. Jones is clearly mentally ill.

Hopefully the precipitation over next week will help that to some extent?

After that my inclination it that it would transition into a more wavy/meridional pattern with cutoff ULLs and transient ridges in between, followed by a more sustained GOA ridge and cool continental troughing later on with the MC MJO bifurcating and poleward -AAM transport cycle culminating with renewed equatorial deposition of E’rly momentum restarting.

Not sure cutoff ULLs impact rainfall locally, but maybe the most consistent rainfall with respect to climatology will have occurred by May 5th, even if the coldest temperatures relative to climo occur later?

Hard pressed to envision any sustained, warmer than average conditions developing until the third week of May, at earliest. I’m sure there’ll be a warm spike somewhere in that late May - early June window, but it doesn’t look to be long lasting given the boundary conditions this year.

Not bad atoll. Still 66 here. A nice 67/39 spread today.

Clouding up now. Radar filling in on the coast. Seems rain is knocking on our doorstep a couple hours earlier than forecast.

Same spread here, 63/35.

61/45 today...was a tad bit of sunshine this morning but it’s been an overcast day for the most part. Doesn’t look like the next rain is too far off.
