Should be picking cucumbers here in the next couple weeks, my potatoes are flowering like crazy, and tomato plants are coming along nicely! I was a little worried earlier in June; we had lots of windy days and my tomatoes really took a beating. In fact, we tied for 2nd place the longest streak of 89F or better which stands at 11 days. Heading up to the upper 80's today with DP's in the low/mid 60's. While the first 10 days were dry the last 3 have been very wet. For the month Grand Rapids mean is now at 79.2 that is a departure of +6.9. The high for the month so far is 94 and the low is 64. There has been 3.28” of ran (3.26 of that in the last 3 days) here at my house I have recorded 3.24” of rain in the same time. At Muskegon they have a mean of 79.1 that that is good for a departure of +8.4. the high there for the month so far is 92 and the low so far is 64. Muskegon only recorded 0.56” of rain so far. At Kalamazoo the mean is 79.5 that is +7.1 their high is 95 and the low so far is 61 There they have recorded only 0.71” of rain fall. To the east at Lansing the mean is 79.1 that is +7.5. (Had two 90° days in June as well.) It seems my new wx station shows a bit higher dew point than my previous one did. A bit to high IMO. That’s how stations can vary a bit, unfortunately. Storms are plenty scattered and I can just see some passing sw. of me. Waterloo area got nailed again! Some huge hail reports. Hopefully we don’t get damaging winds. My sister’s place around 7 miles se. saw some wind damage from the storm a few days ago. They thought it was awfully windy with my brother estimating 70 mph that time, but I figure that’s guessing to high. They got a horizontal rain of around 0.70” while I had 0.08” and a nice breeze.
