Washington is mostly average, with some below normal temps in NW WA. January is below normal in Washington, average in Oregon, and very cold over the northern plains and upper midwest. February-April are shown to be solidly below average in the PNW. As far as Precip, December is shown to be wet in the PNW, January near normal, with above normal precip over W. Oregon, and then a wet February/March period across the region. Persistent above normal heights over the GOA and frequent intrusions of chilly Canadian air into the NW. This run adds another solid cold snap just after mid month with thicknesses dropping to 522 with northerly surface gradients yet again. Hopefully this will be the default pattern for this winter.
