This article has some good pictures of the devastation to the Coquihalla highway. It could take months to reopen the main transportation route to the Interior

As for the town of Merritt, the flooding has caused the Coldwater river to change course and it’s now running thru town along what used to be Pine Street.  Officials seem doubtful whether they will be able to try to reroute the river back to its previous channel

That's just crazy. There has to be a way to re-route it. I know creeks are re-routed sometimes.

This is a pretty real taste of winter for North Central WA.  Many places are snowing with temps in the upper 20s to low 30s with Blewett Pass sitting at 25.

Loving south of PDX is not the best place for snow lovers. It’s barely tolerable in Puget Sound area !

I would hate to be one of the property / home owners where the new river channel is.  Yikes!
