They serve an extremely important purpose; however. They fool the average American conservative into believing that they are on "their side"; while the only side they are actually on is their own.

Without their existence; a popular uprising or revolution would have occurred long ago.

That is the main reason why they were so reluctant to have Trump as the nominee; and why they exhibit so little loyalty towards him now that he is the president.

You are very correct. Pawns in the game pretty much.

It would be the same. Trumps done nothing to make the economy any better. Hes just riding the good economic wave Obama created for him.

Yeah. It’s not like Trump has cut a lot of regulations or passed awesome tax reform

All Obama!!

He must've missed my first post about that. When I look at these businesses I wrote about, there is no denying who is and was at fault. There's simply no way around it. I'm thankful that I live only 45 minutes from what is considered to be, by some, the 4th best city or region in the US and that's Fayetteville, Arkansas. I'll most likely wind up living there soon or nearby. If there ever was a place where you didn't want to think about the Clintons though. Lol.

That was one of the most balanced, honest, and thoughtful political discussions I have been a part of in a long time.

So if the reason for the stock market being so great the last year is because of Obama....then why would yesterdays 600 point loss with the DOW be trumps fault? If the success is obama's same liberal logic would say that loss was because of Obama as well!

Bill Belichick and Tom Brady are unproven trash. They suck despite getting a record number of titles.

Trump is the guy taking credit for day to day market gains.  Didn't he tweet that if he wouldn't of won stocks would of dropped 50 percent?

Had a neighborhood visit by out local news today. I still can't believe the DNR in both Minnesota and WI simply refuse to believe small populations of cougars are located in both states. Biologists once said bear territory would never make it back to Wausau. Now we have bears South of Wausau. I trust the locals more...

You know; when I ponder the intellectual capacities of the "leading" American Women...Hilary, Sarah, Sheryl Sandberg, Debbie Wasserman...I realize that I am just not in their league!

The thing that really irritates me is that almost immediately, the left turned this into a means to push their gun control agenda. Not only is that sad, but gun control will never work and I’mnot so sure guns are even the problem. I think it’s the people with the guns. For example, in Switzerland, everyone is armed, but they don’t have these types of mass shootings. I know there are similar countries, but can’t name them off the top of my head. Trying to control guns is like telling a criminal to follow the law. Like that doesn’t make any sense, that’s why they’re criminals. If a criminal really wants a gun, they can get it smuggled. IMO the best way to stop these kinds of school shootings is to either post law enforcement inside(or nearby) the building, or arm teachers.

Background checks would help, but would never be 100% effective as some mental illnesses come after the individual already has a firearm( or are never detected) or if they are somewhat sane, can just get one off the black market, if the motive is strong enough. These types of people will always find a way to get firearms. Therefore, the best way isn’t to try and convince criminals to follow the law, but decrease the severity of the inevitable crime.

There’s a line in the federalist papers that reads, “if all men were angels, no government would be needed” but this ain’t the case. There are people out there that are dead set on causing misery and terror on our country. Even in 1787 people were aware of the malintentions of very small minority. As in my previous post, I am a firm believer that there isn’t much that we can do to prevent firearms from falling into the hands of criminals, especially with corrupt havens like Latin America so close by. There’s too many variables to even hope to account for. Unfortunately, I really do think the best course of action is more reactive over preventative.

The exact instant I turn 21, I am getting a concealed carry permit. The reason why? Because I know I will be on the positive side of gun ownership. I am going into law enforcement, I'll for sure know a lot about guns. Why not own a gun for the intended purpose, to protect my own lives and other innocent people's lives? What people do not realize is that 99.999% of gun owners have them for THAT intended purpose.

The left likes to pull Australia's gun laws and lowering homicide rates out of their asses when arguing gun control. Yeah, but they don't have a bunch of corrupt countries where there is basically no criminal justice to their South either. Making that comparison is like taking Canada's "successful" (it's not) Socialist government as an argument to why the US should adopt that without looking at places like California, Detroit, or Inner City Chicago which are being run into the ground by liberal governments.

If they wanted to protect the kids they would have metal detectors and armed officers in every high school. Except the left really doesn’t want to fix the problem. They keep talking about banning guns yet none of them offer a real solution that would solve the problem

30 years afore; there was never a "school shooting"...anywhere.

Also violent crime is actually down from years past while gun ownership is at record levels. We just get these incidents when in reality crime levels are going down

This was a dude who was pissed off because he got expelled. Not sure how much that would have helped.

Plenty of kids are expelled...only one went on a homicidal murder spree.

Violent crime is down for two reasons:  The population is older and old people do not commit many crimes.

Secondly, there is more money in this country than there ever was.  The concentration of wealth makes crime less necessary and widespread.

I still remain adamant that terrorists (school shooting is terrorism) should not have their names released or they should be released way after an incident. Many mass murderers do it to become famous. They're doing a pretty good job at becoming famous, let me tell you that! Or news outlets are doing a good job at making them famous. Release the names of the victims, not the shooters. Don't give them any attention. They don't deserve it.

Yeah I forgot. It's weird having a shooting where the shooter DOESN'T throw up a third middle finger by killing themselves.

The state of Florida can do it though.

The strange inner workings of man's mind are nicely borne out when we examine his perspective on those who commit the heinous act of murder.  When a man is found guilty of a single murder, he will likely be sentenced to death or afforded a lengthy sentence of incarceration.  He will likely be castigated in the popular press and relegated to infamy for eternity.

However when a man commits numerous murders ("serial killer" being the contemporary colloquialism), he will acquire a strange, quasi-mystical cult-like status.  Though he will still be sharply denounced and inveighed against by most; a segment of the population will be fascinated with him...and an even smaller sub-segment will actually venerate and romanticize him.  Psychiatrists will debate all the variables that "led him astray"...which, of course, serves no purpose other than to absolve him of culpability.  Books, magazine articles, and television will speculate as to "why" such behavior would manifest.  Ultimately, the numerous murders and incalculable suffering he brought about become quite beside the point...his victims are long forgotten...but the killer is immortalized.

The third level of indescribable barbarism is the mass killer...the genocidal maniac...which usually means the leader of a nation.  All these monsters eventually die; and their demise is usually celebrated throughout the world.  However the passage of time humanizes them.  As they transmute from the daily newspaper dispatches to the pages of the history book; they acquire a certain je ne sais quoi...an indescribable panache that provides them a bizarre insulation from condemnation.  Academics, insulated beings themselves, try mightily to explain away all of the tyrant's shortcomings..."we must remember that it was a different time" (as if wanton and reckless killing is *ever* justifiable).  A lie told enough times eventually appears to be the truth.  The most evil men in history end up as masculine role models...cults build up around them...their brutal conduct becomes something for young men & boys to emulate and aspire to.  Though their parents publicly frown on this celebration of wickedness, they quietly endorse it at the sub conscious level...for they likewise hold a deep admiration for tyrants at their core.  Time passes; new dictators rise & fall...the cycle is self-perpetuating and never-ending; man is caught in a loop of his own making.

Thus it becomes evident that the inner workings of man's mind is rife with the most profound contradictions...though he loathes tyranny, he is the agent by which tyranny manifests.  He fights for freedom...but he is a born slave who invites his own thralldom.  Lastly the degree to which he heaps scorn upon the most wicked is inversely proportional to the degree in which the wickedness manifests...the greater the abomination, the greater propensity he will have for exculpating the wrong-doer.

I'm not so sure that's a field you should aspire to...

If you become a prison guard; it is as though you are in prison yourself.

If you become a police officer; your life is in constant jeopardy...

Moreover, though the police officer is, in many ways, a noble soul...they have a foot-on the neck approach with far too many people who are not hardened criminals...and that is not something you should seek to make as your life's work.

It is a life of constant tension with little respite.

You would be better off getting a good office job; that way...you would stay out of the rain.

No it was not a conspiracy set up by the government for no particular gain.
