Downslope still alive and well here.  It'll be interesting to see if we can get actual accumulations with wind here.  Both here and at our old place at 99th/152nd it has never happened.

I am encouraged to see the HRRR showing heavy precip rates from 9PM to Midnight in the Seattle area

 

Should still be cold enough for snow at that point and there is a line of yellow over King County at 12AM, FWIW.

Why is the snow/rain color difference appearing?

Looks to be almost to Centralia.  By the eyeball, perhaps Olympia by 2:30 or so???

Much lighter snow now, but heavier echoes down south moving this way. If I can stay for another couple of hours I could get a couple of inches.

It's not taking into account the amount of dry air/evaporative cooling that will be taking place at that point.

Strange? It has been nothing but snow here in Hillsboro so far. 

There is probably a warm tongue near the foothills to the east. I heard a little sleet earlier, but it is definitely snow right now.

18z NAM moved precip time up considerably, with the main stuff still coming in around 8-9PM.

 

This is 2PM, can't hurt to get an early start!
