FINALLY!!!  Good God it is so hard to get it to snow here.  Really coming down good and quickly accumulating now.  Winds have shifted to NW on the East Hill of Kent so the colder air is finally going to be able to work its way in.

I've been pacing like a caged animal for the last hour waiting for this to happen.

Genuinely happy for you. Hope you get buried tonight!

Starting to accumulate here even in the city now.

Yeah it's accumulating very fast. Just need to keep up the precip rates. And get some backfill.

Backfill is common with these situations.

Absolutely dumping out there now!  May make up for some lost time.

This is a strange one.  All of the snows this winter have been bizarre in some way.

What a struggle, 31.9 finally

Approaching and inch of snow

Struggle is right.  I thought I was going to go out of my skull waiting for it to really get going.

This is the payoff situation for my location.  SW flow aloft and NW drift at the surface bringing the cold air in.

The screw zone just got a little bit smaller, best of all you should have a few days to enjoy it. Looks like Victoria and a few areas along the North Sound will be the only remaining places left out; still making up for Dec 1996 I suppose.

Heavy snow in downtown Seattle now per a FB friend.

I live about 2 blocks up from the threshold of downtown and Capitol Hill. Can confirm it's dumping and sticking on grassy surfaces.

Just starting to mix here. 33 and very wet. The fact that my area is under a WSW is an absolute joke. If it was all snow now there isn't enough moisture left out there to amount to much anyway.

Just drove from South Lake Union to the very top of Capitol Hill about 30 minutes ago. Still a rain snow mix and zero accumulation down by the water, and at the top of Capitol Hill it's sticking to everything, even the roads, and they already have close to an inch of accumulation. Interesting to see the difference over literally just 10 blocks. Halfway down the hill now at home it's all snow, but only sticking to grassy surfaces.

Snowing lightly up here with probably about 1/4" on the ground. Finally dropped to 32F. Still looks like I'll be lucky to see over an inch or two.

Portland NWS busted on flood potential here in Corvallis, where we are up to 1.77" rain for the day and still dumping, our local Marys River is approaching major flood stage.  I guess it's time for the folks up north to get their snow while we get the fate of northern California this time around.

Pressure bottoming out here now around 990 mb.

Took a screen shot earlier of the radar when you said you weren't getting any snow yet. By golly there was Covington with green rain echoes showing up with snow surrounding you. I do not understand how this can happen but none the less it does. I didn't post the image out of respect as you didn't want to see the radar.

Glad we're finally getting the goods and no snow shadow!

This means no sleep for us tonight :)

Nice potential for snow tomorrow morning according to the 1000 foot temperature / snow mixing ratio map. Cold enough for snow and lots of potential.

here in Bellingham the snow picked up a bit an hour and a half ago. I went for a very long walk through WWU's campus to check it out. I felt like I was in Fargo; it's a very fine powder blowing around on the streets. Only about 1/2 inch of new snow over the refrozen slush, but it's so cool. Also there was no snow from last night even 1/4 mile south of here. I'm always amazed at the differences in conditions over short distances in the PNW.

Wow the L just came inland north of EUG. Winds went from calm to gusting south at 40mph in a matter of minutes.
