Some more cold air into NE Washington on Friday. Would probably be 52/20 type days in the valley by then if that verified.

The FV3 is projecting here, I feel. Shows more snow because it’s always on crack.

 

Regardless, I’m liking the potential! Only concern is the Gorge gradient...

Sure cleared out quickly tonight after those passing showers in northerly flow. Already down to 32 with the moon just a little past full. Still have some snowish looking material on the ground from the hail/graupel shower too. Pretty evening.

The cold definitely isn't seasonable. Average highs will be in the mid-50s down here within a week or so.

Just checked the radar to see what was going on and noticed a snow shower was moving through, turned the porch light on to see moderate snow falling. Pleasant surprise.

Those look like they are moving SSW, down into the west Cascade foothills. Might end up hitting you eventually.

True. We usually get a bout of clear skies with highs in the mid-40s and lows in the teens every March.

Color me impressed!  Both the GFS and FV3 are colder than previous runs.  FV3 drop the thickness to 513 over SEA and the GFS 516.  True cold!

Still about 4 to 5 days away. I like our chances to eventually score an overrunning event if we can stay cold with good offshore flow.

My mind is blown.  Incredibly cold monthly average to this point and looking increasingly likely for major cold Saturday night through Wednesday now.

The zonal upper level pattern due to a positively tiled trough off the southern B.C. coast shown on the GFS on Sunday doesn't favor northward progression. The ideal scenario would be to get a neutral or negatively tilted trough that would allow the low and deform precip to track northwards.
