Whoa. I was not expecting this to show up on the model. 70s for the valley? Tim is going to have a heart attack.

Also LOL at the cold pool in Siskiyou County.

Wow, from extreme cold to start March to extreme warmth.

Yeah, here are the temperatures the 00z GFS shows at 5pm on March 18th. 70s from SEA down to EUG. Still way out in fantasy land though.

Just noticed there were sub-zero highs yesterday in parts of Nebraska. Those places barely got above zero again today. Absolutely incredible.

I know it's far out but the end of the GFS shows something like 70 - 74 - 69 for highs March 18-20 here.

Just the thought that there's a warm system like that coming gets me excited.

Yeah, same here. I want one last round of wintry weather this week but then after that I'm so ready for the warm season. Bring on the heat!

Agreed the weather has been amazing. Can’t believe people prefer warm rain

Don't prefer warm rain... just craving warm rain right now.

Like craving a trough at the end of a hot August.

Pretty good bet we see some warm weather in March. I don't think it will last long, but I will definitely enjoy it when it arrives.

You just want your snow to melt fast. If you didn’t have snow on the ground you wouldn’t care about warm rain.

Maybe... but it also helps move the spring progression along even after the snow melts.     I crave it when it goes missing... but only want it for short periods.   I was craving some 60-degree dewpoint heavy rain last August too.

00z ensembles definitely hint at some sort of warm up towards the end, around hour 300. But it seems like that keeps getting delayed.

Even if we have a couple days well into the 60s or even approaching 70 we will still likely end up below normal this month.

Family Guy has been around for 20 years now... and it still makes me laugh out loud.      I love when I see a new episode in my DVR list.

That's the feeling I get from the month as well. A couple warm days would actually feel pretty nice in moderation.

00z GFS is actually a solidly cool run up until hour 336.

Its a slow moderation.   We are starting from ground zero.   Have to walk before you run.

Like in early September when its been 95 degrees for a month and low 80s looks cold and makes you happy.

As long as it goes back to bone-chilling cold immediately.   That is the only way you will accept a warm day right?   I hope nature is taking notes.

Really interesting drive out to the east side today. Stopped first at Starvation Creek state park, there was 6-8" of snow, and significant ice on Starvation Creek falls. Continuing eastward there was about a 8-12" of snow on the ground in the The Dalles, with bright sunshine and temps in the mid-20s. Headed south to Dufur after that where there was a foot+ of snow and early afternoon temps in the low 20s. Did a snow hike to the hill above the town then continued south through Maupin and up to Criterion Summit, where it was just 13 degrees around 3pm. At this point we were far enough south that we were getting into the stratus layer, so the only mountain visible from there was Adams. We turned back north and went to White River Falls state park, where there was significant ice on the falls and the White River itself. From there we took highway 216 up through Pine Grove and eventually to highway 26 near the Warm Springs Reservation Boundary. Headed over Hood and caught a great sunset from Government Camp, where it was in the low teens. A few pictures to come.
