12Z ECMWF shows a little variety on Tuesday... warmer up here than down south for 1 day.   Of course it will be raining by evening even up here... but its an improvement.

Went up to North Bend two days ago and it was depressingly dark there.

We have at least been breaking out into sunshine late afternoon here in Federal Way although yesterday was quite nice out most of the day.

Morning clouds heavy this morning 62* brrrrr

62 here as well. We will see if we can push it to 70 this afternoon or not. Over the last 5 days only the 4th of July was 71 degrees everyday beside that has been sub 70.

Tacoma WA elevation 300’

Monthly rainfall-3.56”

Warm season rainfall-11.14”

Max temp-88

+80 highs-2

+85 highs-2

+90 highs-0

EFFF it.  Going to Chelan tomorrow for a few days.

It'll probably be cloudy and rainy over there too.......ha ha ha ha!

Before you know it August will be upon us and fall will get ready to set in.  More gray and rain.  This summer sure has sucked donkey balls.

My tomato plants are getting ripped off.

I need some sun and heat!

If you post the precip maps from this Euro run I won't make a negative reply to your whiny cloud comments for 24 hours. Deal?

No worries about it being too cloudy here. A perfect mix of clouds and sun lately!

Yup. We have been the place to be so far IMO.

That is a gorgeous map for midsummer. Only four days out too.

I’m pretty happy to see this! Pretty crazy that I might end up with more rain this month than May and June combined.

Side note... Thursday and Friday look downright lovely even up here.

Highs in the mid 70s and some sun... perfectly normal.

Not that it matters... but I love some summer rain as well.    I have no complaints about actually getting meaningful rain.

There is no reason to spend all this time debating it and have people telling me its been nicer in other areas. I fully understand that.

This is not normal for my microclimate in July. A crappy pattern for this area has been stuck for an unusually long time. Sh*t happens.

I am only responding to people telling me that this is just normal here and its awesome everywhere else and I should expect there to be no sun at all here in the summer.

Your microclimate is more prone to such stretches - even though it's not normal. It is what it is...there are trade-offs for living where you do.

A forum for the end of the world.

If politicians could actually control the weather and one promised to make it overcast and in the upper 60s all summer long and another promised to make it sunny and in the low 90s all summer long, our nation would surely be divided. The question is which one would most likely be a Democrat.

Then again even the gray weather fans here probably don't really love gray weather, especially if they have kids who want to enjoy the summer. They just prefer it over intense heat. The warm weather fans probably don't exactly love 100 degree weather but still prefer it over cool and cloudy. Kind of like the last presidential election. Most people voted for the person they hated the least.

There is actually a break in the clouds over us. Its not dark right now!

It was like that most of yesterday, ending up hitting 72F without much wind. Some rain showers rolling down the island are keeping it cloudy for now but it won't be long before it switches back to its sunny default. It's almost like you live on a different world with the conditions you describe in your area. Feels like a perfectly normal summer to me.

Yeah... your area is pretty much the same under ridging and troughing. Basically 70s and sun.

Here the difference is huge.

Maybe we’ll pay off the 2013-18 karma all at once and go full +ENSO/cold summer like 1993.

IIRC 1992/93 was a pretty good winter out there despite +ENSO/+PDO..and the AMO was negative..and there was no classic -AO/-EPO either..and the QBO matches!

#UhOh

This was a joke post from Phil a long time ago... maybe not so much of a joke anymore.

93-94 was a rather bush league winter too so hopefully not an analog but we are definitely not due here.
