Happy Tuesday. My wife was mowing our front yard today and she saw a mouse. She played the guillotine today...it was no accident. :P

I took a look at it on a break and it was def a mouse. Too small to be a rat, but a larger field mouse. We have lots of cats in our area and two indoor. Quite interesting.

Trades/cyclonic flow should increase over the Atlantic during the next week as this -NAO pattern decays, so it’ll weaken some, but I suspect this +AMO regime is here to stay as a low frequency signal in 2023 (and possibly 2024 given post-niño circulation tendencies).

65 degrees here with barely a cloud in the sky.    Taking time to be outside and get some sun.   Our cottonwoods have taken on their summer look now with deep green, glossy leaves all filled out.    The big leaf maples are the only trees left without leaves now (always the slowest)... but they have very large buds so it shouldn't be too much longer.

yep we're leafing out too, really kicked into high gear over the weekend.

the apple trees I was afraid were dead after the early killing freezes last year (leaves just shriveled up dead and stuck to the tree all winter) just started blooming too (and finally dropped the dead leaves from last year) so weird

About the same conditions here. The cottonwoods were very fragrant from balsam over the weekend (the warm temperatures were really helping it volatilize).

75 here. Pretty much on par with what we had Friday and Saturday last week (76F)

Up to 70 now... but feels like 80 on the deck.    Good enough for me.    👍

Next warm spell should be well in sight by early next week which will make it a little more palatable.
