BLI snowman
I was in Forks this past weekend. Town has (probably) seen better days. Spectacular area though, even with its lack of posh golf resorts. The Olympic Peninsula is probably my favorite part of the region, along with the Oregon Coast. BLI snowman
Wineries galore in those areas! Yakima and Richland also have beautiful wineries. We absolutely love going over there... seems like some of you really do have a problem with low income demographics and areas that have a large hispanic population. Not sure how else to explain it. That is too bad because there are some absolute gems in eastern WA. Right, because hanging out at the golf course and winery in Richland screams immersing yourself in low income demographics

The theme of course with the depressed towns is that they were incredibly reliant on the timber industry and have never recovered from its collapse, and just haven't found the right mix to bring in new industries and tourists/retirees. The smaller towns in western WA nearer to the water don't have that issue, as tourism has boosted them. The San Juans are lovely, as are places like Port Angeles and Port Townsend.
