I’m getting legitimately excited now. Don’t jinx it please. 🙏 🤞

Pretty much guaranteed that Everett won't touch 80 next week at this point.

22 years on planet Earth. Been a weird time.

Happy birthday! I turned 23 at the end of May and even I am starting to feel like I’m getting old in some ways. Not like I feel old like I’m in my 60s or something (besides having some back issues) but I feel old thinking about how it’s been over 5 years since I graduated high school now and seeing how much the world has changed in just that amount of time. All in all I hope you have a great birthday though!

Low clouds are just rolling in here now.   When the low clouds are moving inland in the morning an underachieving day is all but guaranteed.   This might be a day when it's still in the 60s at 1 p.m. at SEA but ends up in the low 70s.   Zero chance of 80 today.

65 at SEA at 1 p.m.

Easy call.

Maybe I’ll bring the severe weather with me this time. ⛈️

Finally Shawnigan can chase something other than smoke.

BC is actually looking pretty good today in terms of smoke... with lots of rain and troughing ahead for that area of Canada.

I honestly feel sad for Eric Holthaus, and that’s not meant to be a putdown. Have spoken with him in the past, he’s an empath and a legitimately good dude. Truly wants to save the planet from what he believes to be imminent disaster.

But man, he is the epitome of brain rot. Used to be level headed but has slowly lost his marbles. It’s sad to watch.

I read they've reached 80 before but I don't see what year that happened. And don't really know how long they've been 70+.

Thanks, I figured this wasn't the warmest they had, but I need context on what makes a significant stretch of warmth there.

Quite a bit warmer than that. 🙂

Transitioning from 3-year La Niña to strong (east-based) El Niño is the perfect way to smash high temperature records in the mid/high latitudes (both w/rt SSTs and land surface temps).

It’s been almost a century since we’ve seen an evolution similar to this. Records would be smashed even if global temps had been stable since the 1920s.

Earlier in the year too, with more sea ice. 😱

But the narrative is what matters.

#2 meteorological summer 2023, to date.

Hard not to burst out laughing sometimes. 😂 But it’s also kinda sad to watch. These people are slipping into mental illness and nobody is there to help them.

I refuse to believe 0.5" of rain will fall at my house. This is a wishcast

Treat it like a snow map and expect the rug pull and you will be fine.

I believe this gets a lot of usage in the winter, now we need to start using it for summer:

First time I’ve seen the EPS hit 100°F beyond D7 here in awhile. Good time for a trip to the oasis. 😎

Now do the side that says climate change is all a lie and part of an international conspiracy against America.

If I saw anything like that on my feed, I’d definitely make fun of it on here. You know that. 😁

Problem is I’ve never seen anyone spew such drivel. At least not amongst those I follow. That sounds almost Alex Jones-esque. Maybe Joe Bastardi qualifies?

And certainly haven’t seen any authoritative/news source spew such garbage. The only misinformation I see these days is from the alarmist camp.

The man you voted for President in 2020 said something very similar:

We have a climate emergency in progress here.   At this rate of increase... it will be 120 degrees by evening and then who knows if we will even be here tomorrow.

That is the problem in a nutshell... these demonstrably false and hyperbolic statements from the alarmists about global warming then allows the other side to dismiss everything entirely.   Be careful about crying wolf.
