Phil Posted August 6, 2023 Report Share Posted August 6, 2023 While we’re on the topic, this was the monster storm that produced 80-90mph winds here on 7/29. At this point the storm was on the other side of the Chesapeake Bay over 60 miles away, but cloud tops were insanely high, well over 60,000ft. So it was still visible. Camera doesn’t give the best perspective on the height but it’s way up there. For reference, this was taken exactly 9:05pm, ~ 45mins after sunset (almost 5 hours since the storm left). But the top of that cloud was still illuminated.
