Haven’t seen any lightning with those cells west of the crest moving into the south sound just yet…but with the rapid intensification on radar/satellite it’s going to be kicking off soon.

Looks like there’s some strikes to the south of Tacoma now.

Based off the satellite it looks like some of the marine layer is still intact so I’m wondering if that will make it harder to see lighting from the storms that are out in the distance.

Yeah it won’t be like some storms we get with high cloud bases that you can see from ~30 miles away with low cloud cover.

It’s so disappointing how terrible the HRRR is in our area. Even the most recent run fails to catch on to any of this. Hopefully it improves in the future.

My alarm just went off too.   In a relatively quiet area for now but seems like the EPSL is in a favorable spot for rapid development.   Now have to decide whether to stay awake waiting.

Weather station just caught one 6-8 miles away. Looks like that cell to our southeast is heading right for us.

Just saw the low clouds light up for a second but no thunder.    Annoyingly low ceiling right now.
