Second round moving through with temps at 33. Moderate snow.   Melting some though.  Grass is almost covered.  Roads are slushy.   Looks like a few hours of this could add up to a few inches.

GRR's map has my place under 8-12", but a WWA ofc. Just another day of life in an obscure corner of their CWA. Feels just like old times 😂

I just measured 7.3".  Moderate to heavy bands are expanding over the Cedar Rapids area.

Woke up to not much snow on the ground. Light wet snow. I'm in Forest Park, IL right next to Oak Park. It's been raining most of the AM and we are right on the line of rain/snow for the radars but sadly getting the rain.

Wish it was snow. Here's to the weekend storm, I guess.

Saaaame. 5 miles west it’s snowing, but rain here! I’m so sad :( hopefully it changes over again but I’m not holding my breath!

Yeah, this stinks. I was hoping to take my son out in the snow today. I drove a little west it's snowing.

Same up in the Gurnee, IL area.  Hoping the Friday/Saturday storm brings more whiteness.

1.3" in the last hour, up to 8.6".   Conditions have change dramatically over the last hour.  The snow has dried a bit and the wind has risen quite a bit, really blowing now, much more like a typical winter storm.

I was going to say, your last picture looks very much like a PNW snowstorm with wet snow sticking to everything. Not so much like a Midwest snowstorm where everything is blowing around with drifts and the trees are more bare. Figured it was only a matter of time until the Midwest-aspect kicked in.

Some tweets from EAX today.

As of noon...storm total snowfall here at Pleasant Hill is 10.8". The storm total precip is 1.16" which is the normal precipitation for the entire moth of January. This will definitively help with the drought provided we ever see the ground again

As of noon...Kansas City has received 5.7" of snow and 0.79" of precipitation for this event.

Yeah, you did well.  I was not expecting Waterloo to do nearly that well.

I think 75% of those that frequent this thread over the past 5-6 days over performed. Incredible when you think about that.

The two loudest sounds known to man: a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and a gun that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.

Awww :( if it was 5 degrees colder we’d probably have some amazing totals right now! Fingers crossed for this next one, hope we aren’t too far west, if we get a snownut hole around us I’m literally going to scream 😂

Total at MCI matches what most got, but wow, they cleaned up down there at the EAX office.

9.2" now.  The patio actually accumulated another inch last hour, but, perhaps due to compaction, the snow board only rose another 0.6".

Radar still looks great.  A moderate to heavy band continues to be parked over Cedar Rapids.

Snow is waning a bit at my house.  I'm about 10 miles too far west for this current band of moderate to heavy snow.  The wind has picked up though and visibility is poor.  Measured 9.1" about 15 minutes ago.  I expect I'll get to 10" but probably not 11".

Congrats guys!  I ended up just under 6 inches, the wind is really ripping and blowing snow everywhere.  The band on the SE side of the metro just sat on them this morning and really produced.
