What a FUKKED up pattern for those of us in the Puget sound!!! Watching system after system poised to carve the perfect path for Portland and vicinity. Meanwhile, we sit back and watch cyclogenesis get tantalizingly close and then retreat out into sea...good FUKKING LORD I GOSHDAMN HATE IT!!!!

My eyes are now pointing to the sea once again...I digress. Looks as though the next wave is developing further north. Far enough to help? Who FUKKING knows, huh?

I only posted the what if maps just incase it moved north.  I did state today that Lewis County, WA would be the blocking point.  We'll see what happens, it is the micro-climates that'll take hold and surprise and they usually do.

It looked like it was headed towards Olympia and the south sound but the latest returns seem to show it is pulling away and retreating southward.  Don't know if get any tonight.  Need that sucker to dig and spin something up a bit stronger.

Nope, wave is marching east and we are left with offshore windshear, so to speak. That low or the low above it are curling away. That's the energy that hits us and warms us up Monday or so per the models. How FUKKING ironic, huh?

You were just mentioned on live TV. Mark Nelsen on KPTV on air said Andrew at Silver Falls reported mostly rain for last few hours.

I am seeing some signs that the moisture may have a really tough time making it up here. The last few hours northward progression does not look as strong. I do not have a lot of confidence in this right now. We shall see.

I'm seeing the same thing.  Last night as the moisture approached from the south west it took a long time to build in but it made steady progress.  Tonights moisture looks to be pulling back and retreating.  Now this could change but the trend is not our friend yet.

Started clouding over earlier here... very slowly.

Went outside to get the mail just now and the sky is mostly clear again and the moon is shining bright with just a couple passing clouds.

Not a good sign at all.    And the east wind is blowing again bringing in more dry air.

OK, I have officially seen enough snow now.  8" today on top of 10" yesterday.  With compaction, snow depth is 15".  There is a limit to what a Subaru with chains can drive through, and if we get another 5" it the work-to-fun ratio will tip in favor of work.

650' on the east slope of the coast range west of Philomath.  Had snow yesterday until 3 pm, then ZR for two hours, sleet for an hour, and back to snow.  Today have seen nothing but snow, temp up to 30.  Perfectly OK with me if the next two storms go north or bring just rain here.

Ya that was awesome!

Very strange here.  I got a burst of wind around 5 from the east after being from the SW all day.  Some downsloping occured and temp spiked from 26 to 30, and has since settled back to 28.

Was very surprising to see the temp spike in mid winter with an east wind.  Perhaps some warmer air aloft mixed down.

Funny.  We were out and about earlier and my truck thermometer spiked from 27 to 30, then almost immediately returned to 27.  I wrote it off as just an instrument issue.  Weird.

My preferences can beat up your preferences’ dad.

I have had that feeling before here.. numerous times.    People don't get it.

As a real weather geek. I would never get tired of that.

But to each their own.

Yeah I never grew tired of the snow that just kept coming day after day for nearly 3 weeks back in 2008. Almost 3 Feet of snow and I was craving several more feet!!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!
