So I cannot relate on the coldest temps since the late 60s. Models showed that Arctic airmass advecting down south and then kind of rugpulled it north a couple days out which I was a bit annoyed about. That really hurt the WV when it came to snow last December. It's not always that steep (and when it's not, many parts of the WV can actually get colder than it does here). All weather is local. Feb 2021 had 10+ inches in a lot of spots N and E metro (only 4 inches in my place sadly), Feb 2019 was also not terrible east metro, Feb 2018 saw some spots with a good amount of snow (5 inches in my area around), and 2016/2017 was great here.
