NEJeremy
Had a flash freeze event this morning. It rained pretty good at 34 degrees which was the temp at 7a when I got up. About 745, the wind picked up markedly and temps dropped to 27 very quickly. I took a look outside and what were wet roads and sidewalks, now were shiny ice.I left the house about 830 and the side roads were pretty rough, but the main roads were ok. City got out very quickly and treated the roads so didn't hear of any major accidents.Horrible timing with the rush hour, but didn't seem to cause too many problems. Now for this weekend.....
Tom
Would love to be in Lake Tahoe or Truckee, CA right about now! I skied there in the early 90's and Heavenly (in Lake Tahoe) is one of the most beautiful ski resorts I've visited. They have received 70"+ with another 3 feet coming! The view over looking the Lake from the top of the mountain is phenomenal.

Gaylord for instance, all 3 sites in and around listing 16" as depth. I noticed when there is a high liquid snowfall and/or a ton of liquid in the snow pack that map reads "high" for a day or so before it either self-corrects or gets adjusted by NOAA personnel. It's still a good map imho. Might make a trip north to find good ski conditions Saturday. More snow today and temps below 32 right thru Sunday should make for great winter up there.
