I love taking snow pictures to document the various snow falls. Though I realize after a while they all kind of look the same.

They really do! But the scenery is just begging to be captured this morning. :)

I always love seeing the sun shine on new snow. Does not always happen of course.

Sometimes it feels like this to me. Especially if we don't change where we take the photos. ;)

Mattias informed me that the UW radar goes back 8 hours, so looked into how my snow fell last night. A small band of moisture situated over my house for 4 hours, only about 10-15 miles in diameter, and dropped just shy of 5". A good 1"+ an hour. Wish I would have woke up, had no idea any flakes were going to fall

There's nothing better than when that kind of surprise snowfall happens when you're awake.

Just watching giddily as it piles up having literally no idea how long it will continue.

Agreed. The feeling that it could end any second or continue for another 6 hours is both nerve racking and exhilarating. Although east of the Cascades, most storms work that way.

Up to 68" in Bend this winter. Only a dusting overnight so nothing to add to the total. 2-4" over the next week or two certainly looks possible. Haven't had a whole lot of moisture make it over the Cascades into central OR the last few weeks.

Was there yesterday, lots of inconsistent flurries throughout the day, fun to watch.

My only 2 decent snows this February were 6.6" on the 7th, and 4" on the 19th. That was over 80% of this months snow.

Yeah lots of shadowing with these cold onshore flow patterns. I am starting to catch up to my brother in The Dalles.

Three consecutive above normal snowfall months, with January being nearly 250% of normal. I would say there is a good chance of March being above, with an average of 2.5" to 3". (I've gotten more than 2x that in one morning a few times)

Even in both the '10-'11 and '11-'12 seasons there was one below normal month in the stretch, so if I get 4 consecutive above normals that would be a nice statistic I haven't had yet since moving here.

I saw zero that month...so I'm sure March 2017 will perform similarly here.

Eugene and Salem did well that month, as did the coast.

This weekend will be meteorological spring. According to Portland NWS, it's today or never.

This is going to go to overtime!

54" at the local airport. neck in neck with supercell. I think i can beat timmy given that it doesn't snow in spring that far south however. Beating Bend is unlikely however.

Yeah March and April can be huge snow months in Montana. It can snow into May in K-Falls though usually just an inch or so. I remember Timmy SuperCell posting pics a couple years ago of snow around May 20th, I think it was 2013.

Very close to my 54.5" as well.  I would imagine you will end up ahead come May.  Realistically, I have about 3 weeks left in snow season for Shawnigan Lake.

While we do okay in March and April there's a large drop-off in average snowfall in Spring unlike in the plains part of Montana, or continental divide area(bozeman) where March can be the snowiest month and April is equivalent to November/February.

March here gets just a skiff less snow than November according to 81-10 data.
