About an inch here. No biggie! On to the next one please! This is not our storm. This is a DC, Philly special where 8-12 inches will fall there. NYC is a very close call. Several inches there expected (3-5in) last I check.

Certainly looks like a winter wonderland out there with a fresh cover of snow.  Def a lot better looking than that black covered snow and open grass spots.  Going to be a cold next couple days with highs in the upper 10's.  Probably going to finish with a grand total of 4.0".  Getting hit with some real fat nickel size flakes right now.

LOT:

..WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CST
/1 AM EST/ SUNDAY NIGHT...

* TIMING...SNOW WILL DEVELOP THIS EVENING AND CONTINUE INTO
SUNDAY.

* ACCUMULATION...STORM TOTAL SNOWFALL OF 3 TO 7 INCHES

* MAIN IMPACT...SNOW MAY FALL HEAVILY AT TIMES...ESPECIALLY LATE
TONIGHT INTO EARLY SUNDAY MORNING...WITH SNOWFALL RATES POSSIBLY
REACHING UP TO AN INCH PER HOUR FOR A TIME. THIS WILL CAUSE SNOW
COVERED ROADS...MAKING TRAVEL HAZARDOUS.

* OTHER IMPACTS...FRESH SNOWFALL...DECREASING TEMPERATURES AND
INCREASING WINDS MAY BRING WIND CHILL READINGS OF 5 TO 15 BELOW
ZERO FOR SUNDAY MORNING AND 10 TO 20 BELOW ZERO FOR MONDAY

On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

4.9" here as of 9pm. Looks like this system is done, unless some of those radar returns to the WSW shift this direction.

Almost left to start plowing after the end of the second period. Glad I decided to check the radar again, was surprised to see the snow quickly filling back in out west. I guess I get to see the rest of the  Hawks game and maybe SNL too!

It's been a great game, though losing Hossa and not seeing Crosby isn't the best scenario. Oh wait, I've seen Crosby, he's just been invisible in the game. B)

Southward movement is non-existent right now. Looks like the radar is even going to fill in around I-90. I just measured 4.5 and I'm thinking I can get over 5 inches.

I think you'll get more. Probably not much up here though.

72.5" for the season now.

What's falling now is like heavy flurries. Will take awhile to tack on any real accumulation.

Starting to die down a bit, next heavy band coming in a few minutes. This little break is letting the plows catch a break, about 5 minutes ago it was a white out. With all of this back building in Eastern/Central IA and a non-existent/minimal Southward Shift I may be able to hold onto the heavy bands till 11:30-12:00 a.m. hopefully will then get over 5". I am going to measure in a few minutes.

Down to flurries now. Cold air has really dried the atmosphere out.

Yup, down to 6 here, looks like another sub-zero night..

Oh, and barometric pressure is 1029mb and has actually been pretty high all day, so pretty impressive for this storm with dry air pushing in..

I think the clouds may hang on long enough to prevent that tonight. All bets are off tomorrow night though.

Might be able to call this a 5" storm if those returns by Lake Geneva can hold together.

Just below 6 now and has been dropping even with cloud cover, gonna get awfully close to zero, and will definitely go below if clouds do clear some then we'll definitely make it a little below. Dubuque is actually officially at 4, so I bet they'll make it below. Might as well add another night below zero if it's gonna be this cold anyway..

4.5" total here...snow ratios were really high with this.  One of the more colder storms and powdery snowfall we had this year.  Probably average 15:1 or better, highest ratios were towards the later half of the storm when 850's started to crash.

The total I'm going with is 2.9".  My ratio wasn't high at all, only around 12:1.  My gauge catch was 0.23" and the core sample was 0.25".

season snowfall: 34.8"

'22-23: 30.2"      '21-22: 27.1"      '20-21: 52.5"      '19-20: 36.2"      '18-19: 50.2"      '17-18: 39.5"

Average snowfall: ~30"

Just cracked 5.0"...ORD probably about the same...nice event to say the least.

ORD was at 3.7" as of 12:30am. Exactly 72" (or if you want to see it a different way, 6') for the annual total.
