It was 102 in Mtn Home. Got back to Grand View there is thick smoke and 96.

Have you ever been to Dickshooter or other areas of extreme SW Idaho? Looks like Grand View is like the "gateway" to that area of Owyhee County and on into Malheur County, OR that would be a good place to bury treasure and/or a body.

18z. About the most I’ve ever seen an operational run go off the rails compared to the ensemble mean.

Not really. Until this past week I had only driven through here on the freeway. I've been with my kids this week so we've mostly been in Boise. We swam at CJ Strike Reservoir today though which was fun.

I saw Dickshooter on the map today. Funny name.

Strange.

You would not go through there on I-90. And there are no spots on I-90 from Bellevue to Cle Elum where there is poor cell coverage.

Hmmmmm.

There's a few spots with T-mobile. General no though.

Lol dude. I don’t know where Bellevue is, and I wasn’t driving this time. And yes, I had one bar and it said 1x instead of LTE.

And technically we’re in Plain, WA, about 15 miles from Leavenworth.

I like that area. Will be going through it on Sunday. Lake Wenatchee area gets a decent amount of snow in winter. I think 110" about on average. Maybe slightly more.

The lake is always cold though.

Then you literally drove through the middle of North Bend and said nothing about it. :)

I don’t really know where North Bend is either.

I thought the mountains looked similar to those in your photos, though, so I wondered if we might’ve been nearby.

Just 87F in Springfield. Smoke is keeping temps way in check.

Smoke will always keep high temperatures down. Depending of how thick the smoke is anywhere from a couple to several degrees cooler than normal. We can't complain though because wildfires and the resulting smoke from them are a part of weather.

This is not true. You know where it is.

High of 88 here. Haze/smoke kept the temp in check. Marine push almost here.

Upper 50s across the north Sound now with low 60s across the Kitsap.

Warm tonight. Still in the low 70s here.

Shawnigan Lake has reached or exceeded 30C (86F) on 8 of the last 9 days, 12 days this month and 14 days on the season. Quite a stretch of hot weather considering we only average 4 days that hot for the entire season. I believe we tied the record for most consecutive days above 86F (30C) with 6, last week. The streak ended with an 85F high on Saturday.

My personal station has recorded 93 and 92F the past 2 days.

Quite the difference in temperatures shown on the 12z GFS vs. 06z for Sunday afternoon

Yeah no kidding.

Hoping we get a solid 7 days of cooler weather and that the heat doesn't return that quick.

This will likely end up going the way of the massive early July troughy period that was advertised by the models for a few days. Ended up verifying dry with one day in the low 70s down here.

We just can’t get decent troughing in July or August anymore.

Hopefully the next run of the GFS isn't warmer or is actually cooler. Heat does back off a little bit late next week and then returns on the 13th.

A full 10 degrees cooler now than it was yesterday at 10am. 63 deg currently.
