Sorry, no.

Hillary did not refuse to concede and insist she was the rightfully-elected president.

No, instead she just weaponized her vast connections in government and sent the country through a bunch of BS about Russia for four years. So much so that she made half the country believe our president was actually a Russian puppet.

You're right, that's much better.

I read that piece a couple days ago and got to this part:

Quote

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has weathered a sustained opposition campaign from the same forces for five years and from Trump and Haley in the past year, and he hasn’t put a foot wrong yet.

Which literally could not be further from the truth, so it kind of negates the writer's credibility on the issue. Next.

Yeah, that's debatable with DeSantis. The Ukraine stuff was pretty dumb. If he didn't have such a bland and simultaneously annoying personality I do think he'd be the clear #2.

I agree. The more people get to know him, the less they seem to like him.

Unfortunately for him that dichotomy doesn't work too well for an aspiring president.

what??? that's conspiracy theory level crazy.

There were plenty of non-politically appointed people who thought the investigation was legitimate.  Mueller and co found plenty of evidence if you read the report.  Lots of obstruction and lots of questionable interactions with Russians that folks initially lied on.

You're trying to tell me the Mueller investigation is even remotely the same thing as what Trump did leading up to January 6th??

The Mueller Report and January 6th are two giant distractions.

Here is one easy way to understand that January 6th is nothing but a political football.

After 9/11 an entirely new cabinet department was created. Tens of thousands of new federal employees were hired to staff security at airports. Despite no repeat of this event over the next 22 years, those same screening procedures are by and large still in place at our airports.

Juxtapose this with security in Washington DC in the wake of 1/6, an event many in Democrat circles like to compare to 9/11. There was increased security for a time, now it is practically the same as it was before 1/6. I am still just as shocked today when I go to DC as I was the first time I went in 2017, shocked about how little security there is. The fact you can just go in any congressional office building for literally no reason other than that you want to go roam around for hours, and you can hang out in the hall, in the cafeteria, walk the tunnels to other buildings, go in and say high to the staffers at any random office... It's really astonishing how little security, rules, and structure there are, and how essentially none of it changed long term after 1/6. What it shows is that none of those people are/were actually afraid.

I really *WANT* to ignore the rest because it just really highlights why we can't have nice things, and how pathetic the GOP has become, but the reality is that I am not ignoring it.

I hope you were chuckling to yourself when you typed the portion of your reply that I highlighted, because no sane rational person could say or think that and keep a straight face.

SHOTS! SHOTS! SHOTS!

The foundational mistake Karl Marx made was atheism, his denial of the Eternal Being from whom all things ultimately flow and exist.  He swallowed Darwin’s naturalistic material philosophy whole hog, and that theory still dominates American academia and intellectual thought.  And, “if there is no God, then everything is permitted” (Sartre).  The implications of this have been enormous in America, incalculable.  No moral absolutes exist.  Nothing—abortion, transgenderism, child mutilation, not even slavery or incest in their historical “stage” (Engels)—nothing can be condemned EXCEPT a denial of the transitory nature of morality and historical change.  The greatest enemy of humanity is God and those who believe in moral absolutes.  This is Marxism and the current Democratic Party in America.

SHOTS! SHOTS! SHOTS!

Nationalization of productive resources makes every citizen a slave of the government.  And since Marx viewed capitalism as global, the socialist revolution must also be global.   The current “globalist” movement is totally rooted in Marxism, but directed by a new cadre of Leninists and Maoists—Obama, Gates, Schwab, the elite Left.  And capitalist America has always been the greatest enemy.

Biden’s Lawfare Against Donald Trump

In the not-so-distant past, the prospect of a presidential administration weaponizing the Department of Justice (DOJ) and federal law enforcement agencies against the president’s chief political opponent would have been seen as patently un-American and a shockingly authoritarian power grab.

But that is undoubtedly exactly what the country has seen by the Biden administration against Donald Trump. Over the last several months, the Biden DOJ and state-level prosecutors have launched an unprecedented series of politically motivated indictments of Donald Trump – attacks that have grown in intensity as Trump has expanded his polling edge over Biden.

Whether any of the left’s indictments against Trump will ultimately result in a conviction from a far-left jury remains to be seen. But thus far, they have primarily served as major political boosters for Trump, rallying conservative voters to his side in unprecedented numbers.

As the first vote of primary season approaches, the former president will almost certainly continue to face baseless legal warfare from the left.

It’s a good question.  I think if he paces his campaign not to peak too early he’ll be ok.
Plenty of time to campaign. He’s a known product so his battle is the nomination.  With Biden being underwhelming, Trump can campaign effectively without burning out.

They are all wolves in sheep's clothing. They won't make their true intentions obvious. They won't be happy until America is fundamentally transformed, wealth and resources are redistributed by the government so white people are no longer in power and the population is controlled through abortion, a large number of same-sex "marriages" (less children), and vaccines. That's why they all support the World Economic Forum whose motto is "No one will own everything and everyone will be happy".

Xi Van Fleet fled from a communist country and she knows exactly what is going on with the woke revolution. She doesn't need the right-wing echo chamber to tell her that.

Too many people are being blinded by Trump Derangement Syndrome, so Trump could indirectly cause the downfall of America by allowing Democrats to continue to win.

Good grief. Trump was not some secret Russian agent whose campaign was intimately involved with the Kremlin on every level, which is what we were led to believe for way too freaking long. Any person who has just a slight sense of impartiality could say that whole charade led to absolutely nothing but chaos and breathless reporting for four years. All because Hillary and some of her cronies in government and the media were pissed she lost and couldn't believe that maybe Americans just really don't like her.

I won't say J6 and that situation are completely comparable but give me a break with the "Hillary did nothing wrong and conceded immediately" BS. I get so tired of hearing that line. The chick still isn't over her 2016 loss for God's sake.

Did you actually read the Mueller report?  Or at least the unbiased summaries?

And what evidence do you have that the entire Russian investigation has to do with Hilary?  And don't tell me to look it up myself.

This smells like you're just seeing red when you think of her.

This smells like you're just seeing red when you think of her.

We had a sitting President authorize spying on one of the leading candidates from an opposition party. Then when they couldn't find anything they used the media to cook up a story which submarined the first half of Trump's presidency. It's probably one of the most subversive moments in American history, but as a follow up the current President has now weaponized the DOJ to prosecute (persecute), this now former President who is the leading contender in 2024. Talk about destroying democracy.

Lies lies lies lies. You're better than this.

You say all the same sh*t trump says but apparently you don't like him.  Seems *really* hard to believe.

Keep that tin foil hat on.  It's doing a lot of good

You think that woman opposes Biden?!

Seeing how some folks on here have really gone off the deep end and seeing some of the polling, I'm growing more and more concerned where we are heading.

You probably should be. We should always be prepared for worst case scenarios. A Trump win at this point is well within the realm of possibility. People are clamoring for him.

So I guess it's impossible for someone to be impartial unless they're on your side.

Dont you see how dangerous this thinking is?

Democracy is all about compromise and you can't even agree on provable facts. How does this get resolved?  Do these authoritarian thoughts somehow go away when the facist finally dies?

-Sigh-

Every now and again you'll poke your head out of your extremely politically-biased chamber and join the more rational folks out here in the real world where we can put our political ideologies aside and call crap out when we see it. Then just as quickly as it happened, you'll go and run back to your corner with partisan BS like this.

Maybe we'll get the objective SnarkyGoblin on the next topic of discussion. Maybe we won't. Stay tuned to find out!

Not gonna answer, eh?

If I quoted from the report, would that change your mind?

If you believe in "democracy" you should believe RFK JR, Manchin, Stein, and Cornell West should be on the ballot in all 50 states.

I believe that states get to decide how to make their ballots, just like the constitution stipulates.

If a state wants to allow a smaller threshold to be on the ballot, then so be it.

That's how a representative government works.

Should the states be able to decide abortion or gender policy?
