21 in Bellingham. F.CK

Wow!  It dropped below -30 over parts of the interior of BC last night so the outflow will be really cold.  I'm going for 12 in Bham at the peak.

I think SEW needs to issue an advisory for this...

Plenty of cameras showing white ground.

Band is building south into the city and Bellevue now.

I got snow on grass no pavement yet

Same here. Probably another hour or so it will stick on the pavement.

The Central Sound is really filling in on the radar.  The NWS had better get those advisories or whatever put up.

No kidding. What are they waiting for?!

The 12z GEPS looks the best it's been all Winter long. Blocking develops in our sweet spot.

An area of snow is moving straight northward toward King County now.  That should merge with the blob over the Central Puget Sound and start it snowing for places further south.

Run the visible satellite loop.

https://www.atmos.washington.edu/~ovens/wxloop.cgi?vis1km+12

The cloud band from SW WA to Bellingham is a frontal boundary now... there is no more c-zone at this point.

That band is in the process of becoming north to south as the southern end moves east.   Then it will continue to rotate so that its positioned from NW to SE and it will be centered over King County later.

Roads are gonna get real ugly when temps fall well below freezing later and snow will probably still be falling.

That makes it even more fun!!

Could be a flash freeze with such cold air into the North Interior now.

Up to 46 again. I doubt this will be more than a few flakes in the air.

NWS-Seattle just tweeted rain to snow and will be heavy at times with slick roads. Yet, there is no advisory, the NWS wait and see approach is baffling.

Here the temperature dropped and the snow started. Never was any rain to speak of.

No idea why the snow is just going right around Chris... that is the southern end of the deformation band forming and its doing so well to the east of his area too.

Probably time for the NWS to pull the trigger on a WWA.  We could even get close to Winter Storm criteria if the Euro is correct.  Snow to water ratios will be higher than 10 to 1 later in the night.
