If the EURO is right and we get 2 inches in in parts of King County I will be impressed. Pretty skeptical though right now. 

 

We'll see.  There is a lot of action on the radar tonight.  It shows both 850mb and 925mb temps plenty cold for snow by later tonight.  We get some offshore flow also.  We just might catch some magic here.

I suspect its going to be related to diffluence as the low slips south.   Matt taught me that one!

Yes....unless the trough digs southward off the coast and creates a short fetch SW flow ahead of it.

EURO hasn’t trended much since the 18Z, this outcome is actually a bit better. Considering that the mesoscales look fine and models underestimate the northward extent of precip, I think we could do alright (2-4 inches metro-wide).

GFS actually moves the low ESE along the OR/CA border. Wow. Looks like we wished a little too hard for a southern trend lol.

Time to kick this east wind, it started shifting ENE hours ago but keeps bouncing back to E or SE. Then again, it might be moot point if that deformation band fails to materialize. Snowfall is of the fast melt-off variety tonight, judging by the traffic cams.

This map is for snowfall from Tuesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon.  On one morning it shows it snowing with temps in the low to mid 20s!

And it might actually be sunny for most of the week as well. GFS only shows some clouds on Thursday... but lots of sun every other day through next Sunday.

850s remain sustained in the -8 to -10 range for most of the coming week on this run.  Wow!

 

I can't believe I'm this stoked even though we mostly miss the big snowstorm.  This run does show some scraps making it to this area late Monday night from that.  This is history in the making.  What a month!  What duration!
