I have a hard time believing the dewpoint at SEA is going to go from the single digits to low 30s in the next 20 hours without more of a robust moisture influx.

It appears EUG is now reporting a snow depth of 13" up from 8" at 4pm...

Believe EUG ended up with 12” of snow from the last storm right? Pretty rapid melt in just 24 hours to get down to 8”. Basically a 1” gain so far from this storm.

Hopefully PDX gets a little something. The winds are still absolutely howling out there, wow. Whatever does fall will definitely stick though.

Indianapolis has had 16.7" of snow so far this season. Looks like you just surpassed them.

Believe EUG ended up with 12” of snow from the last storm right? Pretty rapid melt in just 24 hours to get down to 8”. Basically a 1” gain so far from this storm.

 

Yeah the depth was 11" yesterday at 4pm so it went down 3" in 24 hours. You have to remember all the 12" fell with the temp above freezing, and then temps didn't go below freezing until almost midnight last night. So there was a lot of immediate melting and compaction.

Looking at the Salem cams and it appears to being snowing pretty hard there right now. All the streets south of downtown are covered now.

The western part of this band is getting shredded hard. Looks heavy on the eastern side though.

At least this system looks juicier, and it is definitely cold enough. A dusting, perhaps?

That’s right! I completely forgot that it fell above freezing... I’m in awe how that much could accumulated with it not ever going down to freezing. Not to mention the wet snow melts more rapidly, not the case this time though. Wow.

NWS slowly increasing our snow chances tomorrow night.

 

Now calling for up to 2" for the Everett zone forecast and here is their updated AFD:

 

Upper level low remaining off the coast tonight through Wednesday

night. Update number 2, models are in good agreement with a
deformation zone forming over the eastern portion of the area
late Wednesday then curving northwest in the southeasterly flow
aloft into the northern half of Western Washington Wednesday
night. Conditions over the area even with the offshore flow
weakening will be very dry. This will help reduce the
precipitation amounts but still expecting a tenth of an inch or so
of water with this feature as it moves over the area. Snow levels
will be low and when the precipitation starts ( it will be rain
or rain and snow mixed ) with the low dew points will fall to
near the surface pretty quickly. Will update the forecast for the
potential of an inch or two of snow from about Seattle northward
Wednesday evening with the possibility of a little more in the
Cascade Foothills.

HRRR shows not much for the south and central valley after midnight, snow reaching well up into WA.  Also shows the low center currently over Crescent City CA reaching Sequim by 9 am tomorrow, crossing over Sweet Home and Portland on the way.  One of the oddest tracks I have seen.

Yeah, if the RGEM is correct then heavier moisture makes it's way in here after midnight. I'm not expecting much. Maybe up to an inch like what Mark says.

Is anyone else beyond amazed the ECMWF shows another cold shot equal to or greater than the current one around Sunday or Monday?  Mind blown once again!
