It starts snowing for a bit then lets up, then starts again. Nothing too consistent yet. It’s obvious the mid levels have some moistening up to do. Luckily the night is young.

6z NAM is WAY drier for Western Washington tomorrow night. Keeps everything North of the border basically.

 

Such a drastic change from the 0z which was the snowiest yet.

I haven’t seen winds this strong at my house since January 5th garbage and debris and knocked down garbage everywhere in my area

Btw, for Central Sounders watching the radar and satellite loops, if you look out the Pacific from the Olympics you can see a reverse convergence zone thanks to the east wind.

 

Pretty neat and rare.

Yeah I have a lot less so far than areas east because the band mostly disintegrated here. Back to flurries here too. Hopefully that next thing rolling in can hold.

Quite a wind event going on due to cascade winds, buddy has no power in auburn right now, winds had to have been atleast 45mph when I was outside a few minutes ago

Was some snow flakes very very few though briefly but now nothing going on but strong winds still, very impressive wind strength usually only see strong cascade winds near the foothills haven’t seen it like this here before

Not sure if I'm buying the snowier solutions for WA. Dps are almost too low, especially with the precip rates not being shown to be very heavy. Don't how easy it will be to reach the ground.

 

Maybe an inch here or there but other than that I'm skeptical.

 

NAM did a 180 and shifted everything north... not exactly what I wanted to see 24 hours out lol

Radar not too encouraging down here. Lets hope the ECMWF and NAM are right that we get a decent burst of snow after 4 AM. I have a dusting so far that is getting blown to bits by the wind. Everything that comes up on this side of town is getting torn apart for some reason.

I see some nice intensification to our south. Things look decent on the east side.

That promising band just got destroyed here. Had some light snow for 15 minutes, but back to flurries already.

Same deal here, I actually have no precip now. Radar shows some light returns but nothing falling.

Temp going up and dewpoint dropping again at PDX. Looks like things are winding down for now. Eugene over performed again and Corvallis/Albany and Salem seem to have done a bit better this time around. Maybe an inch here because of the cross cascade flow keeping it dry, but that's fine. Really really fun night of tracking.

Looks like most metro temps bumped up 2-3 degrees and dewpoints dropped a corresponding amount. Dry air taking over.

Yes I know.  But it already snowed almost an inch, should've moistened up the atmosphere some.  I haven't checked dewpoints or any of that crap, just seems like it wouldn't be virga at this point.

And in 9 days we are back where we are now. Sort of. Cold troughing and 1500' snow levels.

Portland NWS dropped all the advisories. Now things will finally start ramping up.
