Will do... enjoy your winter slumber. :)

Thanks! Heading down shortly to get the winter tires on the work van...that should put the nail in the coffin that is 2019/20.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

I need to bring up the snow blower from the shed and gas it up. That should keep it snow free here for a couple months.

Glad I didn’t spend $900 on a worthless plow for my mower that probably won’t get used for another 3yrs.

Actually now that I think about it... I brought up my snow blower right before the Super Bowl started and it started snowing immediately afterwards and we did not see the ground again for 6 weeks.

For those who think the PNW doesn’t get publicity..

The Capital Weather Gang has been obsessively tweeting about the “bomb cyclone” heading for OR today. More tweets about that lately than local DC weather.

I would love to see a major Pineapple Express (that’s what we called it in the 80’s and 90’s) sometime in the next two weeks and get a reset to a big league negative PNA...something like we saw in December of 1990.

Need more than a -PNA for a blast like that.

-WPO and/or -EPO is a prerequisite, though technically they can all be an extension of the same anticyclonic/RWD/momentum loss pattern.

Down to 36 and it seems like there may be some lumps in there, but not sure. Hope precipitation doesn’t end before temps drop low enough.

Bouncing between 38-39 down in Springfield.  Going to be a weird evening for sure. I doubt we see much of anything down here.  38F is way to warm for even a mix.

West Coast love!

They talk about you guys during the summer too, usually when we’re stuck under one of our dog-day death ridges.

Glad to see we're getting some national attention. Now just need a January 1950 to keep it going.

It'll happen again one day...

I think we talked about this earlier but a tanked PNA almost always leads to good things. I never look at those other things. I have never seen a major winter storm in this area with a positive PNA.

Philly native?

My dad grew up in Pennsauken, NJ, so he was a bit excited when the Phillies called me. I still have a lot of family in Lancaster County.

Mitch Williams, aka Wild Thing pitched HS ball in West Linn Or while across the river, Trevor Wilson pitched for Oregon City.  I got to watch those guys get after it.  Not sure the words Phillies and Williams go together very well.  Both those guys could pitch.  I got to work with Trevor a little.  That was a lot of fun.

Out here in North Redmond. Light snow, blowing around so much it isn’t accumulating but up against the side of structures. Crazy to think this may not commence until 4 pm tomorrow or later.

I was eviscerated in Sep/Oct for arguing against the “blob is dying” mantra.

Still don’t understand why so many people care about it..like come on it’s literally just orange and red pixels..it doesn’t drive PNW climate nor does it correlate to warm/cold winters.

The Blob is literally nothing but pixels?!?

Don’t let the clown range GFS run your life. You’ll burn yourself out before December starts.

I still don't understand why some people continue to treat the clown range like anything more than very low percentage model extrapolation. That's all it is.

I get that sometimes people just want to see something interesting in the models and find entertainment value in a 356 hour storm. Maybe they get that I'd rather not waste my time analyzing clown range frames, because it might as well be a 4 (or 40) year old's weenie dream.  :)

In the warm season... I am as desperate as any cold weenie in the winter. But seeing something I want at 384 hours would be more agonizing than not seeing it at all.
