Definitely one event that gets lost as far as perspective goes. Just from a familiarity perspective, it permanently changed the landscape on the Columbia near Westport, among probably others areas.

It changed our landscape in a way no other weather event has since. The number of mudslides in the Coast Range and Western Cascades was incredible.

I have had some posts go to full on "POPULAR" status and receive a star recently! As long as I am 100% on board and never say anything less than totally positive... then it's all good. Just follow the censorship line.

Medford only 35 as of 1pm and has received 0.41" of rain in the past 3 hours.

Tim doesn't really bother me any more.  I just know the models are so flaky and unreliable and he will be here to point that out.

 

When things lock in and it looks like snow he will talk about it for a few posts and then show us that it will be raining in a few days.  He's the cold water on your dream.  Usually he is right.

 

It's just how it is.

 

It never stays cold for long and it's never easy to get cold.

 

He will tell you all about it.

When have the models ever shown anything great 8-10 days out and never wavered?

 

Never.

 

What I like about what I see is that some of the key ingredients will be nearby.

 

Anything can happen.  Tim will tell you it won't.

 

If some cold air can build into NW Canada and BC let's say a little slider develops near Vancouver Island and slides down the coast dragging that cold air and some snow with it.  Are the models going to show that today?  Probably not.  Would it deliver some fun.  You betcha.

So sorry about my minor comment on the 12Z EPS.      It was completely out of line.    I will strive to do better.

The Pacific is an absolute mess right now.  Big blobs of high pressure.  One to our SW and another up near Alaska.  Energy trying to pinch the two off from merging spilling out of Alaska.

 

Once that is resolved we'll have a better idea.
