Hawkeye
I am falling behind other spotters in the area due to blowing and drifting. Snow gets blown off my board, despite the fact my backyard is enclosed by a fence. I do live at the south edge of an open field, so late in these storms the north wind howls across the field and hurts my ability to measure accurately. Even though it has been ripping for the last few hours, I've only managed to accumulate one inch on my board. My total is 9.7". Other spotters are now reporting 11-12.5". 5 Quote season snowfall: 34.8" '22-23: 30.2" '21-22: 27.1" '20-21: 52.5" '19-20: 36.2" '18-19: 50.2" '17-18: 39.5" Average snowfall: ~30"
East Dubzz
There is a 9.5" report in Dubuque (not the official report) as of an hour ago. Though the airport reported 6.8" 3.5 hours ago, so that report probably isn't crazy far off. And eyeballing it tells me it's probably not crazy far off from what I have either. beaugie
Only around 2.3" in Whitewater, WI. Snow has been so wet it's just compressing mostly. Getting some bigger flakes now. Most of the trees have heavy wet snow that's turned into mostly ice. With the wind picking up in a few hours it might get interesting. Minny_Weather
The North Shore got ultimately hosed much like they have all winter- not even lake enhancement could save them. The highest totals in the entire Duluth CWA was actually in and near Brainerd. Duluth got 0.3", bringing their seasonal total to 12.3", while their season to date normal is 40.7" (which they were way above last year). Wichita, KS has 2" more snow than Duluth this season, despite their season-to-date normal being 10% of Duluth's. 2 1 1 Quote Formerly *ahem*: LNK_Weather, TOL_Weather, FAR_Weather, MSP_Weather, IMoveALot_Weather. And I mean record book wise, this probably is still an all timer as far as snow amounts go. A beautiful, long lasting, daytime storm to enjoy, though. The loops are just east, probably over the Ottawa/Morris/Minooka area. But we have planes circling all the time during thunderstorms or bad weather. I am about 75 miles from ORD donuts right about where planes start their descent. We can hear them throttle down all the time.

Hawkeye
My final measurement is 11.0". There are several reports of 12-15" from Cedar Rapids to Iowa City, but I've still never measured 12". I have a nice 2-stage blower, but it still took a long time to clean. This stuff is pretty dense. It's the most wet snow I've ever received from a storm. When the snow stopped this evening and I went out to clean, the weather improved dramatically. It was near blizzard through afternoon, but when I was out this evening it was pretty pleasant. The wind was way down and it wasn't cold at all. 5 Quote season snowfall: 34.8" '22-23: 30.2" '21-22: 27.1" '20-21: 52.5" '19-20: 36.2" '18-19: 50.2" '17-18: 39.5" Average snowfall: ~30"
