As the map suggests, that storm was brutal for here. Hours and hours of heavy 34 degree rain with some token wet flakes splattered in the middle. Ended up about 10 minutes too far SE for the accumulations. There was a tiny warm tongue aloft that day that rode up over us and kept us from seeing the snow, even as we remained on the cold side of the low. And the Patriots did the whole 3-28 comeback thing to add insult to injury.

My current location did get some light accumulation with that but back then I lived further east in WA county and it was just cold rain. I ended up driving west into the coast range and it was a winter wonderland there. As you said, it was ridiculously frustrating how close that rain/snow line was to us and we were just barely on the wrong side of it.

Thankfully we had the huge storm the previous month. How much did you get closer to the coast range that January?

Arrived at Whistler today and was greeted with 35 degree rain! Lots of snow on the ground though and still a ton of frozen ponds/lakes/waterfalls. Definitely going to be taking more pics and hopefully I see some snow tonight/tomorrow before it warms up.

Shift that north by about 50 miles. We’re overdue in Clark county.

I think mid willamette valley's more overdue. When's the last time clark County got a good snowstorm? Last time mid valley had a decent one was Dec 2021, but the high temps were in the upper 30s I believe, so they haven't had any actual good snow since Jan 2017.

I will gladly take a 67 burger. Pretty rare for January. I like anomalous weather. After that, let's get back to winter. I feel like Eugene and especially Springfield are owed some snow after that crapfest that we had to endure. There are still plenty of people without power in Springfield. Sucky is an understatement.

Eugene, Albany, and Salem all need some snow. Washington's had a lot in recent years, Portland had a huge snowstorm last February. Hopefully mid and south valley get a great storm.

Some 67 degree days should help the situation

I'm gonna grill some actual burgers. Looks like the next 7 days are toast. It is what it is. It would be great to have at least a cool and moist finish to the winter after that. I love snowy mountains.

I hope the Graph Cast is really onto something here.  The last few runs have been notably colder than the other models as we get into week two.

I'm warning you guys this latest strain of Covid sucks!  I'm way sicker than when I got it a couple of years ago.  Feels more flu like than cold like.  I tested just to make sure it was Covid BTW.

I’m absolutely dreading those days. One day with a shot at breaking midwinter record highs is bad enough. Three in a row is a nightmare.

Quite often it seems like we get a couple of  nice low to mid 50's days in late January but this mid 60's for my area is just ridiculous!  I'll be tempted to dust off the golf clubs for a trip to the range but I know the golf course will be far too soggy to try with the amount of precip. we've had this month!

Meanwhile ended up with a 50/42 day here. We never got the brief southerlies that bumped PDX into the mid-50s. A mostly dry day with mostly cloudy skies.

Looking forward to tomorrow being winter like at very least. Should hold in the 40s with rain most the day.
