March 2024 Weather in the PNW

Gfs run should be better for chilly trough. An actual base on the ridge this run.

Much warmer Tuesday... and stays reasonably mild the rest of the week.   GEM shows the breakdown from the west now as well and is warmer later in the week than previous runs that showed cold air coming down from the north.

GEM not updating on WB... but big shift late in the week over last 3 runs.

Was a lovely evening down at the Everett waterfront during my wife and I’s first date night in about 2yrs! 😂

Is that your own trout pond?  Pretty cool!

I stock them in October. Hoping one year I get the right temp/water level combo for most them to survive through the year

Can only see GEM on CONUS map on Tropical Tidbits... but it looks completely different than previous runs for next weekend.  Much drier and warmer.   GFS not on board though.   Models are all over the place.

Yes, some mixing today. Nice fair weather breeze. Probably upper 30s tonight, the ridges will stay around 50 if they keep the wind.

Just a short night away with my wife. First night together without the kids since my son was born 2 years ago. Washington isn’t very far from here. No further to Mt St Helen’s or Mt Adams than it is to Bend.

Lots of lowland rain and mountain snow on GFS.

Interestingly... its also still showing insane snow for parts for the Midwest after basically no winter there this year.

31 currently, 24/55 day. Should be able to get a low around 16-22 tonight, with a high around 60 tommorow. Was a pretty nice day at Mt Bachelor despite the sh1t snow conditions, got to soak in the great views on my lunch break.

Will probably try to climb Mt st helens tommorow, always a nice day hike this time of year. Probably will get turned around by bad Avalanche conditions but there's a chance it'll be safe enough.

Frogs going crazy here too.   First time I have really heard them since February.   Looks like our cold spell didn't bother them... they just go back into hibernation and wait it out.

I think Andrew's wife is dating Mossman 😲, or maybe Andrew is the one dating mossman!

Andrews 1st night away from his wife in 2 years, mossmans first date with his wife in 2 years. Coincidence? I think not! Andrew is clearly doing drag, to date mossman and "pretend" to be his wife,

Hoping everyone enjoys this gorgeous weather this weekend! What's everyone got planned?

We've got a 30 mi bike tour planned before we hang out at the beach. And tomorrow we've got a 15 mi hike. Will still need to wear crampons up at the peak given it's at about 5000 ft, but should be a slush fest.

Really happy to see the young lady doing the weather on FOX12+ say "Don't worry, rain is in the forecast."

I hope everyone enjoys this gorgeous, mild, but not record breaking warmth this weekend. The nice thing is these big temp spreads. This is something out of the 1950s.

GFS is still rainy next weekend... but mild rain with temps in the 50s.    Then cooler Monday as the trough moves inland.

10-day snow totals look to favor Oregon Cascades.   Most of what is shown in WA Cascades does not come until day 9 and 10.
