Temperatures have dropped some in the Olympia area with the rain, but it isn't looking like we'll get any more snow down here. Good luck to everyone up north.

Wow, 18z pretty much took my breath away. The last few runs have only been showing us getting ~.4 to ~.9 inches of precip with super cold temps, and now it's showing a classic overrunning event with 2.32 inches of precip. Euro and GEM looking promising for next week, too. As long as it fills in the lower mountain snow machine trails I will be happy!

I wasn't able to post last night because I lost power after all the freezing rain. This was a GREAT snow/ice storm for PDX. At my location I had a total of 10" after the 3 systems and 0.75" inch of ice on top of that. Things are slowly thawing out but it might take a while before things are clear.

Amazing the difference it makes to get snow on a frozen surface like we had. Most of the side roads and driveways are still compact snow.

Looks like most of the moisture went south with the blob that moved in off the ocean. Didn't see that coming.

 

FWIW the 12z CFS had a prolonged cold period in early March. It certainly seems at least a modest cold snap is in the cards for the late part of the winter.

My monthly average for the first 9 days of February is a very respectable 29.9. Not too shabby.

My temperature is down to 36F and dp is at 30F currently. If I get any showers that aren't blocked by the Olympics, it would seem like they would be snow. NWS agrees until about 10 p.m. or midnight tonight and has the chance of a quick half an inch.

Well I don't agree if he was banned. People complain about images he posts only because they don't like to see them. I have never seen Tim post a map that didn't show snow and say, haha I hate snow. I swear I think some on here thinks he makes the images or something.

Unless they were deleted, you can scroll back to earlier today to see what happened. Personally attacking others was the issue, not anything to do with images that people "don't like to see".

All rain here, but the temp and the dewpoint are dropping steadily.

Went for a drive today up in the Olympic mountains. On the se facing slopes at 2200 ft there was only 2 inches of snow. Usually there would be well over a foot. Not to often you see more snow in olympia than were I was today.
