You can’t possibly freeze unless the temp is below 32°F.

My favorite food is a tough decision between butter chicken and red curry. Favorite movie is Mary Poppins.

Most differences of opinion that cause hatred are of the political variety.

My son wake surfing this evening on Lake Sammamish.   I was not out there... but they wanted to try it out.   He is not even tethered to the boat.  Just riding the wave endlessly across lake.   😀

Too much sunlight causes skin cancer.

Too many raindrops..reduces wrinkles?

I mean obviously people who are capable of appreciating rainy or cloudy weather in any way hate all sunshine by default. Best to start with that basic assumption and go from there.

Some rainy and cloudy weather is necessary to make things green and prevent drought, but some people root for rainy weather on a holiday weekend that unoffically marks the beginning of summer after weeks of unusually rainy and cold weather.

Don't be goofy and paranoid.    He has said he wants it gloomy and dark all the time.    That is an extraordinarily rare preference.  And probably not healthy... just a guess.   If you didn't reflexively always say the complete opposite of what I say then you would agree.  But you can't agree with me ever so that puts you in a bind because much of what I say is reasonable.

Other people root for year round heatwaves and a complete absence of marine layer clouds even though their state has experienced nearly a decade of record heat, drought, and wildfires. Preferences are weird. 🤷🏻‍♂️

A wet Memorial Day weekend is great for keeping crowds down, and really the weather hasn’t even been too bad. It’s a nice change of pace after a seemingly unbroken string of sunny ones with temps 5-10 degrees above normal.

Yes Jesse.   That is totally accurate.   👌

Cheering for warm and sunny weather when it's often cloudy and raining means we wish it was 100 degrees every day and it never rains and everything dies.   Clouds and rain are the default up here.   We don't need to cheer it on... we cheer for the underdog.     And western WA has not had drought for a decade!   Good Lord.

Almost 60 days straight with rain has lessened my ability to appreciate rain at this time.    As I am sure 60 days of sun would lessen some people's ability to appreciate the sun.    Seems pretty reasonable.   There are many people who are not cheering for rain right now.

I admit I am spoiled expecting it to be sunny and warm 100% of the time and to go on a whinefest after a few gloomy days, but in general, the better you have it, the more spoiled you become when you realize that this world is not perfect.

However, there's also people who complain about how horrible our country is when it's been one of the best places to live in the history of the world. These people think that if we adapt the Green New Deal in just one country, we can save the icecaps from melting permanently or that if we become a socialist country and teach CRT in our public schools, we can eliminate all racism, inequality and injustice forever.

I've also noticed that it's mostly liberals who like cool and rainy weather probably because they are generally more worried about climate change than conservatives. It's similar to how people who are vaccinated and boosted against COVID are more worried about dying from COVID than people who refuse to take the vaccine.

Will be very nice to see average weather for this time of year return on Tuesday. Our average weather this time of year is wonderful.

There is in fact a middle ground between a high of 53 with steady rain on May 29 and last year's endless ridgefest. Will gladly take some of that middle ground. 👍

Hence my position. I live in inland Southern California, where it is sunny for approximately 300 days of the year and most of that is warm or very hot. Makes one really, really appreciate the rare gloomy, rainy day with cold temps when we do get them. But I understand that of Mr Marine Layer, despite being only about 30 miles west of me, he has to live under gloomy marine layer days for much of the year that we do not experience on this side of the mountains.

I will mention that since Jesse went on this reaction crusade... they come in bunches and Cascadia and DareDuck are always in sync.   There will be nothing for a few hours and then there could be 10-15 reactions from Cascadia and DareDuck at the same time.    Always in sync.   I don't think I have ever seen a DareDuck reaction that was not paired with Cascadia.     That might change now though.
