The NWS always appreciates observations, especially detailed observations that everyone on here is capable of giving. That can be done thru Twitter, as they often set up a feed for that, or the mPing app. That can include final snowfall amounts, when the snow starts/stops, precip type, dew point, etc
This helps them with short term forecasts as well as future forecasts as they can learn from them. A few years ago they had a freezing rain advisory for Leavenworth, but I notified
Well we certainly over performed today, clocking in with a sizzling 92. Still getting used to those types of temperatures in May but at the same time we love the warm nights. 68 at 1AM. Just something nice about going out at night and feeling a warm breeze.
We went to the Canaries baseball team's opening night, for my son's birthday party. We had a blast and it was the perfect weather for an evening baseball game. They even had a fireworks show after we won. Pretty good night!
Kind of interesting to note that Chile is currently in one of it's greatest autumn cold snaps on record with this on track to be their coldest May since 1950. They are in a cold wave that is 8 days and running.
Nice to see something like this on the cold side of the ledger for a change. Could have implications for the developing La Nina as well. Those SSTs along the West Coast of South America are pretty darn cold right now.
