The -NAO being depicted later this month on the models is almost cartoonish in it's scope.  It's going to be interesting to see how that will interact with the -PNA.

Noticed that...Looks pretty good actually. It also looks like God is laughing at TigerWoodsLibido...Literally every model has shown Salem and Eugene getting snow, but not Corvallis/Albany. I have no idea why...

Amount of precip is quite a bit less on the 00z NAM.

 

The ECMWF is the one to watch on this.  It has been the most consistent by far.

The Thursday shot of snow actually looks pretty good east of I-5 in W. Oregon.

Well, looking at the models...It looks like they all show a deformation band which slides N to S...But the precip holds together on all the models east of the Willamette River, but falls apart to the west. Then the whole band reforms down about Eugene as it continues moving south...So I think that is the reason for the snow hole around Corvallis/Albany on the models.

Yeah I would discount that if it were just on the NAM but I guess it is there on the other models too. We will see.
