June Weather in the Pacific Northwest

Geos

Recommended Posts

June is the 4th warmest month of the year here. For PDX to get into the 90s for 3 out of 4 consecutive days is impressive in June. To do it even before the summer solstice is especially very impressive.

Meh, we hit 95 again today like it was nothing.

You guys are pathetic at heat. ;)

The GFS is suffering from its WHEM forcing bias again in the long range. Whenever convection is in the IO/EHEM the GFS tries to shift divergence into the EPAC.

I like to hear that... the GFS was the worst model this morning.

First new vehicle. I was tired of paying thousands to fix my old ford. And I’m not sure if it’s a Canadian thing right now, but used trucks are ridiculous. It only cost me an extra 6000 bucks, compared to a 2014 with 50k miles.

Congrats.

Yeah, I’d blend the CMC/Euro and their corresponding ensembles and run from there.

And my description of the issue is over-simplified, but hopefully it’s sufficient. After awhile you can sort of tell when the GFS is goofing up the pattern just based on where the wavestations set up.

I think he is trying to say he thinks the 18z was too ridgy.

Throw out the GFS entirely... lets go with the ECMWF and GEM.    ;)

Corvallis and Salem hit 91. That seems a little high.

Definitely is legit.  Got a few degrees warmer after 6. Was very strange.

We have been one of the warmest spots in the valley for a while.

That's crazy. Most 2014 cars with 50k miles here would cost about 50% of new.

It might be rough going trying to find maps to cherry pick that show drizzle and mid 50's for your trip... ;)

No win situation... if its actually cold and drizzly then he will love it while we are missing out on summer and if we have record setting heat then he will say it feels cold to him.

Trucks have been holding their value ridiculously well for several years now. My 2015 Ram is worth about $34k, paid $45k for it.

No, there too. May was warmer compared to average in Washington than in Oregon.

Wet and cool here over the last month.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Mark Nelson is going with 87 tomorrow. Two out of four days in the low 90s is pretty run of the mill for June.

Not really, the departure from the high on Sunday for PDX was +18 and today was +17. Even for yesterday when it greatly underacheived due to the high clouds it was still +9.

Tomorrow will be similar to Sunday, just a matter of when or if the thunderstorms come. The 12z EURO which had a high of 88 for PDX today is actually warmer tomorrow with a high of 91.

I'm sure the relatively low gas prices have had something to do with it. When those really go up again, demand will be much softer for large trucks/SUVs.

You will mock us for what we call hot. Guaranteed. :)

Only if it’s warranted. :)

Edit: If I did, it’d just be an attempt to troll you. I’m not a fan of heat in general.
