June Weather in the Pacific Northwest

Geos

Recommended Posts

Haven't evacuated that much since the last time I saw a cloud float in front of the sun.

It would be nice just to see that sun is still up there. No way of knowing here. Day after day after day.

Unlike March, at least it's much warmer.

58 and pouring rain here.   That is totally achievable in March.   Even December at times.

In Puyallup it's 66 and just overcast. The gulf coast gets like this in the winter.

Everywhere has 58-degree rain and 66-degree clouds at some point.

At least the rain gives purpose to the clouds. Although its terrible timing to have wind swept drizzle and chilly temps on a summer weekend.

If I knew the ECMWF was perfectly accurate... then I would cheer it on.

I actually prefer rain on the weekend.

Getting a few sunbreaks now.

So jealous.

Its dark and sopping wet and cold and lush green.

Worry about a lack of rain here?    Not going to happen.   ;)

Definitely not happy about missing out on summer for the last few days though.

12Z ECMWF does not agree with the GFS.   Looks much more like the GEM.

Here is the 4th...

Looks like a marine push in the south valley. At least they've enjoyed a cooler start to summer.

New day... same thing again!

Summer from Portland southward and miserable up here.   Its windy as hell... dark and spitting rain.

Its like the people from Sitka and Los Angeles arguing with each when they have completely different weather and perspectives.

Wow dude. Its been warm and sunny down here the past few days. Not even a hint of clouds and warm again today. We had some brief rain on Wednesday night, but then things cleared out Thursday-today.

Much improved 18Z run!

Just drove through heavy rain all the way to Issaquah. Going to see Jurassic World.

Was glad to see the 18Z run after that mess of a drive. So many Montana plates heading west today. They should be used to rain and terrible visibility now. :)

Live look from my window...

This is becoming worse than me bitching about being donut-holed this past winter.

I want a day like Andrew has today (and yesterday... and Thursday... and Wednesday) here on the 4th of July.

Just one day. One nice day. 74 and sunny is perfect.

If that means its 125 degrees in Portland that day then so be it.

I just want to see the sun!

If it was raining again on the 5th, you are still going to complain about it.

Sunny here this afternoon.

If this pattern is the new background state...*shudder*.

Basically a repeat of May. Nationwide ridge, Baffin Bay vortex. If this doesn’t reverse soon, I’m gonna start getting anxious.

Doesn't look to torch here at the level it was in May. At least yet...

And I thought the BBV sticking around through the summer was key to the regime change you've been talking about?

The Baffin Bay/Greenland vortex looks like it won't ever go away.
