BLI snowman
And the very real drought in Oregon is about as meaningful to the Seattle area as Port Hardy rain. Nah. Air distance from Seattle to Port Hardy is 316 miles. Air distance from Seattle to Eugene is only 248 miles. Sorry bro, Seattle just got its a** droughted. TT-SEA
I live in Vancouver. You are PDX-centric. That is fine... you are right next to PDX. Makes sense. But there is no need to lump all of the posters on here from Olympia northward to southern BC as being in the same drought situation as Oregon and imply my backyard is the only place that is not in a drought. I think the people posting in this regional thread in non-drought areas actually outnumbers the people in drought areas. ShawniganLake
This is a big concern. We will be there for a week starting on Christmas Day. I am actually optimistic that its going to be really good by then. And get this... Whistler is way closer to my area than Eugene. Whistler has a lot of alpine terrain. And being inland they usually are a pretty safe bet. They will probably get a lot of snow on the upper mountain next week
stuffradio
Well a decent chunk of us here are in Oregon so...I only care about my back yard obviously... I got some PM a number years back telling me how annoying I was for only talking about my back yard weather. Now I do talk about that a lot, but I also think I have been quite good at posting general maps talking about the general area too. I also don't complain about the rain anymore like I used to. The entire lower-48 is painted blue in most of those. There is also a much warmer cluster with +EPO. So they cancel each other out a bit. Phil
The PV will take a slow beating over the next 2 weeks as the Aleutian Low/wave-1 conduit intensifies. Whether this opens the door to a full blown SSW/wave-2 in late December is debatable, but if it happens, it will (probably) need to occur before mid-January, as the low frequency (QBO/mass-circulation) state becomes more unfavorable thereafter. http://www.atmos.albany.edu/student/hattard/realtime/u_65N_10hpa_gefs.png Quote Live Weather Cam: https://www.youtube.com/live/KxlIo8-KVpc?si=xKLCFYWbZieAfyh6 PWS Wunderground https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KMDBETHE62 PWS CWOP/NOAA: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=F3819&hours=
