Yeah it's really tough to tell what's happening over the cascades(directly preceding what feeds your edge of the band). It could be just re-organizing around the western part of the broad trough so it might not die yet just get displaced to yakima/olympia/salem and separate from the main deformation zone. 

 

I think it's a lot more important to see what's happening in the place where the band originates rather than PDX radar.

From what I can tell exact placement of deformation zones are largely dictated by local dynamics. I don't think what is happening east of the Cascades and what happens over here is quite 1:1. That is to say trying to extrapolate radar behavior over there to here is probably a crapshoot. PDX radar is the best way to go considering it is showing what is happening around PDX.

Not impressed with the NAM tonight.  Much drier with the late week system .

Thats because the nam dont go out 100 hrs when the low forms on vancuver island.

Icon looking good for Puget Sound/south vi. A short period of rain in there but a quick transition to heavy snow as the low moves a little further offshore

Hey at least I got to watch the sunset as the band fell apart and retreated east. Cold clean refreshing air and a pretty sunset, it could be worse.

Snowing lightly here, band decided to rotate over me. Still on the edge but this is the first pure snow I've seen this season . Temp is down to freezing of course.
