Scott
Where did you see that? The lowest temperature in Havre that month was 10F on the 31st. Havre did record an incredible -16F on October 13, 1881. That's by far their coldest early season temperature on record. It is listed as the October record low for Havre in the WRCC database. Looking at the daily NOW data though, it appears to be an error, and a big one at that (54 degrees off!). Daily:

Kayla
AccuWeather has released their winter forecast and it's a good one for all of us! Kayla
It's gonna be real tough for the Denver area to see ~5" of snow with temps around ~33-34º during the daylight hours this time of year. Kayla
How would you summarize the climate where you live? The Köppen Index classifies Bozeman as having a "Dry Continental Climate" (Dfb). The area averages 20-25" yearly precipitation with rather wet Springs so I wouldn't classify this area as "dry" per say. Beautiful summers with highs mainly in the 70's and 80's and frequent afternoon storms with cool nights in the 40's and 50's. You learn to dress in layers in the Spring and Fall. Could be 70F one day and 20F and snowing the next day! April is actually the snowiest month here. Come mid June everything really greens up and leafs out with beautiful wildflowers everywhere. Winter is long, cold and snowy. You're almost guaranteed snow on the ground for at least 90 consecutive days, December through February while averaging 114 days of snow cover each year. We average more than 40 days at or below 10F yearly and nearly 20 days at or below zero yearly. Record low is -46F here with average snowfall being ~90" yearly. Lots of seasonal transitional variety with cold, snowy winters is how I would honestly sum it all up! 1 Quote Cold Season 2023/24: Total snowfall: 26" Highest daily snowfall: 5" Deepest snow depth: 12" Coldest daily high: -20ºF Coldest daily low: -42ºF Number of subzero days: 5 Personal Weather Station on Wunderground: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMTBOZEM152#history
