Yeah... for you in the swamp.    Its typically heavenly here.

But keep telling me to wish away our summer with highs in the 70s and low 80s and sunshine and all the fun activities that weather provides.    Never going to happen.   :)

Two points wrong with above: 110-130% (more than slightly) above average precipitation since June (two months) in Western WA and Western OR with over 200% (also more than slightly) above average precip for Eastern WA.

Don't make me turn this into another map war.

Good lord. Speaking of cherry picking.

For the period I was talking about in my original post (since mid-March) it has easily been drier than average. Near record driest in many cases. Same goes for April to present, May to present, etc. The fact that you guys with some sort of stolen summer point to prove have only one map from that site that you can grind your axe on kind of says it all. Why don’t you go play on Lake IHOP again.

FWIW, I haven’t experienced a sub-100*F heat index afternoon since I left the PNW. Summer is indeed pointless.

It feels like 102*F here on campus today and *everyone* is sick of it. I can’t imagine how/why Tim enjoys this crap. No way he’s human.

Yeah...Summer is awful.

Its a sad and depressing viewpoint... but you won't change opinions.     Some people just prefer darkness.    I am not one of those people.

Troll.

I don't live there.   I never experience that... and I have no interest in experiencing that.

My opinion of summer is based on normal summer here... not 3,000 miles away in the swamp.

But you already know that.    ;)

I think yesterday’s map war sort of showed that people saw what they wanted to see in them.

At least you don’t seem to be under the illusion that this has been a wet summer regionally. Sometimes there’s facts and there isn’t, regardless of interpretation.

Depending on who was posting them, on a regional scale, some looked dry and some looked near normal.

Been just the right amount of wetness around my area!

GFS showing 0.5-0.75" here today. Would be nice, though definitely scaled back from the very bullish 00z run.

Pretty sure that was taken in the Spring.

Second week of June so meteorological summer. But okay here is another god awful horrific scene taken two weeks ago.

Now Phil’s chiming in with his completely unrelated humidity crap, so there goes any sort of rational discussion.

I like summer, for the record.

Rational discussions only happen when Matt is around.

I enjoyed summer in Oklahoma more than here. Some good weather action on occasion with t-storms and things stayed relatively green.

Precip amounts ranging from .25” up to .7” north of Seattle. A lot of really good amounts up here.

And only .06 here with the sun peaking through the clouds now.

Although we might pick up more tonight when the flow turns westerly and a weak c-zone develops.

Euro shows five consecutive days in the 90s down here from Tuesday until the end of the month. Another top five warm August here we come.

Every August since 2014 has been in the top 5 warmest on record down here, for those following along at home.

I started to type out a more legit reply but figured why continue the circular discussion when I can just reply to your snarky, unnecessary comment at the end?

It's so much more fun that way!
