Seriously what happened to the days of tons of cold onshore flow in the winter? Just like his place I can do well here with that pattern. 2007 comes to mind. I remember getting downright pissed off around Christmas that year, at one point the SL was supposed to drop down to 500’ (was at 450’ where I lived then, at the family lake house) and I think it got as low as 600’. I have spent some winters in Portland where strong fronts were supposed to turn things isothermal. But instead of that happening, there ended up being 2 inches of 33 degree rain with random wet snowflakes mixed in. 6-12" of snow was forecast. Sucks to live near sea level..... We have had various incarnation of 150 blocking at least 5 times already this season.2. Reluctance for troughing to develop in the Eastern US progged to continue.3. Various models developing the classic pre blast signature at months end.4. Very deep solar minimum highly favors somewhere in the US to get hit again this winter.5.
