June 2020 Weather Discussion for the PNW

Recommended Posts

Just looked through the list of +QBO winters since 1951 that were also solidly Niña. Bold is first year Niña, italic is solar minimum.

I get:

2016-17

2010-11

2008-09

1999-00

1995-96

1975-76

1971-72

1964-65

1955-56

The only real bad ones here were 1999-00 (PV fuckup near solar max) and 1975-76 (which was a rare third year Niña).

10-11 was boring here but the others were all solid.

I think I’m just just in a truth spitting mood today. Nothing personal.

Whatever gets you through the drought.

Also 1949/50.

Niña/+QBO is almost always excellent in the PNW. Much better than Niña/-QBO. First year Niña/+QBO is particularly favorable.

If that’s where we’re heading then I’m bullish.

For those of us with full time jobs from Monday-Friday... it is nice when the timing works out right. I guess if your whole life is just golfing every day then it does not matter.

Its just bad luck... hopefully the 4th of July weekend breaks the streak.

Not sure who golfs everyday on here but your Timplaining is definitely prevalent lately whether you agree or not.

Oh well.

And pretty sure you don't work from M-F. ;)

Ate dinner on the deck this evening.

Going to be raining at your house tomorrow evening. Wednesday looks chilly as well. Then rain starts Friday afternoon per 00Z GFS and a chilly weekend ahead.

Enjoy tomorrow morning and Thursday!

Bret Anderson new interpretation agree or disagree Phil and others?

The first week of July he's thinking warm/hot everywhere except the SE and parts of the PNW. Only real cool spot is up in Alaska. Bookmarking this post to see how well he does.

That's not even close to what he said. He said who cares if it rains a couple times in the next week.

No kidding.

I agree.

Is there any weather you don’t consider great?
