Light sleet and 39 in Silverton. Probably it for the winter and you wouldn’t even notice the ice pellets if you weren’t a weenie.

That is a most weenie of weenie statements right there.

Looks like a Kitsap special although I think the snow level north of Seattle could briefly drop to 500 ft in an hour or two. By 3 PM the warm advection wins out.

The HRRR and UW WRF both have more vertical levels than the global models so they tend to handle dynamic cooling events better. The Euro doesn’t really have an advantage over the GFS in this case.

I think we have to trust Phil on this one.

Weenie away then!    Here is the 12Z EPS for you... trying to dethrone the 12Z GFS as the most "putrid run ever".

As Tim pointed out.  Impressive improvement on the ECWF about a week off.  Worlds better than the 0z.

Disappointing how useless the gfs snow maps have become in these marginal setups.  It showed 6-8” here and not even a flake yet. lol.

I thought those goofus snow maps were being posted semi-sarcastically. Wasn’t it doing the same thing all of last winter?

Hey I never called for a dud. But warmer and increasingly ridgy with time seems like a safe bet.

Still, that doesn’t preclude 1 good week embedded in the torch somewhere.

Beautiful.

And your area always seems to stay as snow much longer than expected.

Still no sub-40F highs being shown for this part of town. Hopefully we can manage to get some over the next couple of months or this will end up being a pretty memorable and rather historic dud. We are almost +10F departure for Dec so far.

It does show us getting down to 33F in 4 days so that'll be nice.

I knew the 6-8” wasn’t ever happening.  Canadian mesoscale models are the best at forecasting snow here.  Just think it’s disappointing the gfs has actually gotten substantially worse in the past couple years.

It might still snow here a bit later this afternoon

37 here with moderate rain. Quite frankly it’s depressing

Fine line between really fun and the worst weather possible.    We are on the losing side of that ledger today.

38 and raining here.
