I would say the normal odds of that happening in his area are around 50% in early May.   Graupel showers are pretty easy with any cold troughing convection.

Most western troughs the last couple months have been mainly CA/SW focused, I've noticed next weekend is mainly north-focused. Other shoe's gotta drop eventually I guess.

That should become less frequent with time as the niño elements attenuate.

PDX departures last three days are -1, -5, -3. Really not that out of the ordinary for this time of year.

Been slowly chipping away on the neglected chunk of landscaping that I finally decided to clean up, thin out, and bark. Definitely a wet area but I just wanted to get it done rather than wait until July to do it when it firms up. By then I just want to be at the lake. Been an off and on dribbly day, but not bad, only got the mower stuck once. Starting to clear up now.

I thought it was going to be the most incredible thing I’d ever seen, but it just got dark for a couple minutes and then the sun came out again. It’s rare, I get that, but other than that, we’ve all seen the sun go behind a dark cloud for a few minutes and come back out. It was like a more intense version of that. 

It'll be over 4 minutes, and it'll get light again. Could go to the arctic to see that now that I think about it. I'll cancel my trip now even though I'm already at the area around the NM/TX border, start driving back tomorrow at 3am and I'll be home in no time.

It's interesting how the moisture is coming from the NW to SE and there is moisture coming up from the SW to NE looks like they could vome together in my area for some heavy prescription rates
